  1. Ugg! Well, it all worked -until I shut down. - Same problem again today (buttons didn't work in 3d-coat) until I re-installed the driver again. I've emailed 3dconnexion about it, so I'll see what they say, but I'm guessing it's my machine. Funny though, no problems like that in blender at all. The buttons continue to work, whereas they don't in 3d coat till driver re installation. On the bright side, I'm getting really good at re-installing drivers! lol
  2. Here's a link to the ebay seller I got mine from. The ad says over 10 left @ $80 each. I'm very pleased with my purchase - it's like new (though they are used) and they shipped it quick. http://cgi.ebay.com/SPACEPILOT-3DCONNEXION-LOGITECH-3D-MOTION-CONTROLLER_W0QQitemZ270522002053QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3efc5e2a85 No driver included, but I downloaded the latest from from http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/drivers.html Edit: I just looked again... now they have them for $67! Guess I could have saved $13 by waiting a week. Such is life.
  3. Finally got it! I checked the buttons and all was o.k. So, I thought no harm in re-installing the driver. Poof! it works!
  4. I watched this when it was originally broadcast. As usual, Mr. Bamforth does very nice work and his teaching style is superb. Any word on when the video of it will be available for download? Or, when the ptex portion of the banshee project will be released for download? I think a lot of us are waiting! Thanks.
  5. Just got it in the mail today. I'm navigating like a drunk through the mountains, but slowly getting the hang of it! It's dimensions are a lot larger than you'd think from the picture, but it's quite comfortable. Only thing I can't get the ctrl, alt or shift keys to work with 3d Coat. They do work with Blender (it's fantastic in Blender). Am I missing something? I'm using the latest driver from the 3Dconnexion website for windows 7, 64 bit. Anyone??? Thanks!
  6. Just bought one on ebay for $80 (used) but 30 day guarantee. Hope it works well! Thanks.
  7. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice! I'll have time this week to try out the different techniques. Ian
  8. If Leigh sees this and responds that would be nice. Phil's advice did work. I wasn't able to merge the model Phil shows on his video as a voxel but was able to bring in a high poly model from zbrush as a reference mesh. I think that was more likely my inexperience (probably did something wrong) than 3d coat. I believe the video was a webinar, but honestly the quality and instruction is great. I've bought some webinars that were pretty disappointing, but this one was really well done with a large clear screen recording. Ian
  9. Thank you Phil. I enjoyed the video you posted and will try your suggestions. Ian
  10. Hello everyone, I recently watched the excellent video "Advanced Retopology" by Leigh Bamforth and hoped someone could answer some basic questions for me. I noticed that the 3d model Mr. Bamforth used in his video was modeled in Zbrush. He uses 3d coat for the retopology and unwrapping. Could someone provide me with basic steps to import my zbrush model into 3d coat so I can try to retopo it? Is there a recommended "Use less than x number of polygons" when you export from zbrush? How about any maps you created in zbrush? Should they come in too? Your help is appreciated. I have searched the forum for import zbrush mesh for retopology but didn't find anything. In the video, his model is already loaded into zbrush when the video starts. Thank you in advance, Ian
