  1. just wonder if there is a quicker way to bring the object in paint room and convert it to voxel direct from 3dc without export out as obj and merge in voxel room?

    also is there the way to reserve the color info and project it into voxel object?

    or merge object into voxel room and reserve the color info of original object and transfer it to voxel object?

    my point is is there the way to bake the color info from the texture in original object to the voxel object.

    any idea?

  2. I just wonder if there is the way to sculpt in surface mode using painted color (vertex) as a mask?

    merge an object in as surface mode with little high res. Switch to paint tab and paint some black and white color on the object. Switch back to voxel mode. Now use extude tool paint on top of color part. The tool effect on the mesh regardless the color underneath.

    Is there any way to extrude the the surface on the white or black part only?

    An other word, using the painted color as a mask to sculpt the model in surface mode.

  3. the pose tool doesn't work. it may work for something very simple but not for complicated edges. Could you do this? merge a cylinder as a surface mode and use the cut tool and cut part of it off in an angle . now how can we bevel the edge of the area you just cut?

    What I wish there is a tool just to bevel the edges.

  4. The new surface tool is awsome. however I still had hard time to bevel the edge of my model. This question I asked while back but still haven't found the solution.

    Hope this time someone will give me some advise. The attached image shows what i would like to achive.

  5. i merged in a box without voxelized it. the box has very low plygon number.

    i used general brush and clicked on an edge to sculpt. the tool "smooth" out the edge before adding detail.

    how can i add detail to the box without changing the shape of the box?

    other way around this is increase the polygon of the box to very high before using the tool. However, it will change the whole purpose of the idea that can add very high detail mesh on top of very low res polygon.

  6. can i set up a hot key so i can hold down while i am in sculpting mode and draw a mask to free that area i don't want to have effect then after release that hot key, it will bring me back to the original tool i was in so i can countinue sculpt w/o having click on free tool to draw then have to click on the last tool i was in?

    like in zbrush hold down ctl and draw a mask in a fly?

  7. i dont' understand the whole concept of reference image in 3dc. Hope someone here can explain for me how it works.

    i opened an image and use it as reference image. then try to sculpt out a voxel that follows the image. I use merge tool to merge a box or use sphere tool to draw out the vexel volumn. However, no matter what i tried it only drawed on the reference image but not the voxel. I had to hire the reference image in order to work with voxel like normal.

    What did i do wrong. i thought the reference image is just a reference and you will work with voxel on top of it.

    any help?

  8. what i want is a tool that will bevel the edge not just straight one but cureve one as well. Aslo produce nice clean sharp. your video gaves me some idea but still doesn't help me to bevel like i want.

  9. to bevel an straight edge, I normally use the cut tool with planar on and define the plan then cut base on that plane to create bevel for a straight edge even it take some time. I would think it would be nice to have some kind of tool that bevel the edge and make it easier instead of go around with different tool. For the curved edge. its impossible to do with the cut tool. Using smooth with masking is possible but will take long time to do so.

  10. i am having problem to bring the voxel back to zbrush. i am using zb4r2 and latest 3dc. created a mesh in zbrush. used applink to bring it to 3dc as voxel. Edit the mesh in 3dc then use BringVoxelBacktoApp menu to bring the mesh back to zbrush. Went back to zbrush and nothing happened. is that the right way to do ? am i missing anything? please help.

    just want to bring mesh back and forth between zbrush and 3dc in voxel mode.

    ps. just updated to 5 version and still having same problem. do i need to installed the previous version before install the new one?
