there is one for LW2019 (release > soon)
https://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?157535-3DCoat-Applink-LW2018-source-code/page2
note, it is commercial and will cost $175 (since it is bundled with LightWave ODToolSet)- 1

Awesome! : ]

for now, this seems alright >
(if you already have OD ToolSet that is, kinda pricey if you want the PBRimporter only)
(however, ODT is dang nice, so something to consider) -
i think LW2018 should be better suited to render 3DCoat files now, since it now supports PBR

Thank You Carlosan, Appreciate the Links!

+1.Yes, please. but somewhere at the top of the list, needs to be REAL sculpt layers (per object) with masking or morph targets. This is THE feature that both Mudbox and ZBrush have long had, and 3D Coat missing. I asked Andrew about this several months before V4 was officially released and he said he would look into it right after that release. IMHO, it's the No.1 obstacle to attracting top notch sculpters from the ranks of Mudbox and Zbrush, to 3D Coat. It's just too important of a feature, for them to give up, in order to switch to sculpting in 3D Coat.
hi, sorry to bump, but was this added somewhere along the way ?
nope ?

hi, that Vector Displacement is for import/export only, those have been added...
the Vector Displacement talked about here is for a Brush
by the way, thank you all for answeres, i tend to forget to click "Follow this topic"... :°

hi there,
was thinking maybe this kind of retopo feature would be an idea...
-
It is a shame to hear about the death. I'm sure the rest of the team will continue on in another form, one way or another.
did he pass away, where this info come from?...
not sure, but Darrell was active today > https://community.thefoundry.co.uk/discussion/post.aspx?f=9&t=84990&p=771546

the HardSurface retopo looks great, wonder though, how will it work on smooth corners / edges / sides etc...
Hardsurface retopo example - http://bit.ly/1464moY
maybe if there is an object with smoothing it could be adjusted by weightmap or something?
i read about a density map setting, could be useful for that sort of thing...
-
merge, yeah, that's pretty much what i was looking for.
still, a vector displacement brush would be nice.
(projections have their benefits, e.g. on rippled surfaces)
thank you
-
any chance of getting a vector displacement brush?
(and could it work with voxels?)
-
could be, could be
thank you
-
hmm...
ok, so do i get it right to say that i can't use the Voxel Sculpting method if i want to later on export a Vector Displacement map for e.g. Lightwave?
-
hi, just wondering about this very basic thing,
does 3D-Coat export Vector displacement?
erik

it must be a CPU or Ram issue then...
please tell if you find out more...
-
...there are btw plans for NURBS in LW using the new version of LWcad,... to be announced...
