  1. Hi I am trying to install 3d coat on a mac but everytime I past my serial it says its for version 3 and takes me to a web page that checks the serial, the web page says it can not upgrade the serial to version 4 because it is already a version 4 serial... Help Please ...
  2. I tried in the tweak room, I used transform and tried to rotate but it did nothing, I mean it would not rotate the mesh .. I think it may be a bug as restarting 3Dcoat allowed me to rotate it to the position needed in paint room. Though every now and again I hit the same issue.. Cheers
  3. I am having real issues in paint room trying to get my (Now Retopologised) model to rotat 90 degrees. I can move it left right up down but not 90 degrees. so I am never getting the fron view of the model laid out in the direction I need. I have been in other rooms and tried the transform tool but that does not work .. Is there a trick to this ? Thank you

Thank you for you repies While I was playing with the autotopology tool I did manage to retop a qube so its mesh had 6 quads and 12 tris, though for the life in me I can not get it to do it again, I think this may have given me the wrong idea of what to expect from autotopology tools. Thank you for you help

Sorry I should have asked I am looking at low polly game assest creation, 3000 polly gives me a good looking mesh, but 3000 is too high a polly count, 1000 would be better but it produces a awfull mesh. If I draw out edge loops and draw strokes I mmore ofter than not produce a worse looking mesh than if I allowed 3Dcoat to do the work itself. Are there any tricks to getting hard edges and low polly counts on the type of model I posted. Thank you for any help with this ?

  7. If I knew what I was doing wit autotopology tool what kind of polly count could I get this model down to .. Just so I know what to aim for .. right now I am getting around 3000 quads 6000 tris If I should be getting less than that or even could get less than that could some one show how I would mark up this model for autotop. Thank you err I can not edit my mis spelt heading

  9. I am having real problems with sketchup models that I know 3dcoat does not like so i bring them into Zbrush and remesh them, either through qmesher or dinamesh. The mesh comes out at about 27000 tris. when I bring it into 3dcoat for voxilization it brings up a warning that the voxils will be 95 million and if i say ok kills my computer. What am I doing wrong ? I really need it to handle these low polly meshes but I feel like I am fighting the program to get it to work. Any help would be fantastic. Thank you
  10. I was using the stamp tool, Ill give the vid you linked a look at Sorry for all the newbie questions, I am just getting to grips with how it all works .. right now I love 3dcoat and hate it when it does not work how I would like Cheers for the help though

  13. How do I mask of a section of my mesh (in paint room) so it can not be painted on ? I am working through tuts all over the place but am missing this bit .. I have read the 3dcoat manual about mask but still do not know how to mask off bits .. Also when I am using alphas/brushes I sometime need to constrain the axis it move along is there a way to do this, It usually is by holding down the shift key .. What I need to do is stamp out my brush a few times along the same axis with them evenly spaces and lines up .. is there a way to do this. Thanks
  14. This is the issue I am having. I thought it was a issue with the uvs, but after fixing the UVs this is still there. errr well I would show you but I can not figure out how to attach a image, It just askes for a URL
  15. Thank you Carlosa, I have installed the new beta 12, it works a lot nicer and has less issues with my meshs. I can open one I could not before ..
  16. Hi I can not post a screen shot of the holes as after a computer restart 3Dcoat V4 beta 12 started working normal again. If the issues happen again I will post .. Thank you all for your help
  17. Thank you .. I have moved back to ver 3,7 and all works fine, The issues I was having have all gone... I have done more in the last 30 mins than I have all day, thinking I was doing something wrong. It looks like the new beta version is a bit flaky on my computer.. Thank you for the screen shot ..

  19. Hello I have been playing with 3Dcoat all day trying to retopologise a Zbrush model, My problem is that 90% (if not more) of the time after it has finished there are issues with the mesh. Sometimes there are holes in it, sometimes there are areas that can not be painted on, sometimes the program just crashes out. Is there a way to fix holes in meshes ? I tries to send the mesh to zbrush to fix the holes but once in Zbrush the mesh is a mess after Zbrush converts it to a mesh it likes . Its been a very frustrating day. Thank you far any help I am using Bata 12 version

Please could the developer make the Icons for orthographic view and perspective view distinctly different from each other, just different colours would make it far easier to tell which mode you are in. I also spend too much time running through the menus system looking for tools, could there not be a text input section where you could type the letter the tool starts with and all tool that start with that letter are displayed, a bit like the Zbrush brush tools. Thank you
  21. So I have a Zrush mesh that I wish to bring into 3Dcoat to work on the bump map, the Zbrush model already has a bump map I wish to use while adding more detail in 3Dcoat. Is there a way I can bring in the Zbrush map and add to it in 3Dcoat ? 3Dcoats bump maps are 100% better than Zbrush. thank you

Looking through the tutorials I see a lot of Zbrush Brushes are used in 3dCoat, when I use a brush in Zbrush the brush follows the lines of the model, so a brush with 3 lines would create 3 lines going in one direction on the model but in 3Dcoat I can not get the brush to do this, it draws 3 lines in any direction it feel like .. Am I missing something ? Thank you
