  1. @michalis:You are right about the different performances of the internal 3D Coat decimator.I spent many days, maybe weeks to comparison the two difference approaches and at the end the Zb decimator master is the winner.

Concerning my workflow if you have to suggest me another one I will be very happy to learn something new.But remember that my artworks are conceived to be rendered at huge resolution (until 16.000X12.000 pixel for an incredible details with Lambda print) and using sculptures coming from voxel I cannot found another better way.If I use retopo objects many details are lost.Of course I know the whole process of use displacement map and normal maps, that

usually are the most clever and smart way to achieve some good results.

Anyway I am happy that you like my shapes!

  2. Hello dear members of 3D Coat forum,

I am the 3d digital artist Francesco Mai from Italy,

I am continuing with my artistic research on Voxel sculptures. This time use the Cinema 4d render engine to have a better control on light and materials.

For these images I used this workflow:

Voxels exported as DENSE QUADS (4-16 millions polygons)

Decimated in ZB with Decimation Master up to 90% of original polygons

Imported as .obj and rendered in Cinema 4d

    I hope you enjoy them.

    All the best

    Francesco Mai

  3. Great update, full of very interesting features. Many compliments to you, dear Andrew. You are a great guru for us digital artists who want to use

the infinite creative process for generate Art with computer.A new age is coming...Thank you for choose an image of mine for illustrate the power of

rendering in 3D Coat!I am very happy to use your software to reach new dream visions and researches in digital Art.Compliments again!

  4. Thank you everybody for the kind compliments you made about my (voxel)digital art.Sorry I if I am not too much present on forum but I have some troubles with Internet in the last weeks.Anyway thanks again (ehi,Artman,I will wait you the next exhibition of mine :) The invite of course is for everybody...My next step will be print my voxel sculptures with the rapid prototype technique.I think that voxel could be a great way to achieve impossible shape with the traditional sculpture.Anyway here you are a deep of field artwork all created (ad usual) in 3D coat, included the rendering...Ehi Mr Andrew,if you listen to me please introduce as soon as possible the "replay stroke".We need it :) like a true radial symmetry like Zbr opss cought cought!!

  5. Hello again,

here you are two new images (as Artman requests :) ).All created with 3D Coat.I hope you like them! Before I forget to tell you I render them also at high resolution of 7000*5000 pixel more less.In the future I want to organize an exhibition of artworks created only in 3D Coat.Usually I use other software for real rendering but I am quite satisfied of the quality of this "simple"engine. For large digital print I need large rendering, almost 12000*9000 pixel.I will test this size in the next images.

  6. Im a big fan of your work!! Really beautiful use of 3DCoat.

I was wondering when you would be showing up on the forum . :)

Please post more stuff (I know you got much more.. :D )!

    Hello Artman,

thank you very much for your compliments.Yes,it true,I have more artworks,

but I prefer show them step by step. There are many aspects of 3D Coat that I am studying

so I will wait until many other(artistic)discoveries will made.It is a very incredible software

and every day I find some more functions. So keep in touch and I hope to post soon other examples

    of digital art!

  7. Hello everyone,

I am Francesco Mai,an Italian 3d digital artist.I come from the world of poly-modelling and poly-rendering.Now,after some

practice with 3D Coat I want to show some results..I hope you like them!Everything was made in 3D Coat in Voxel room a part some little post-

production in Photoshop with the final images.A special thank to the creator of this wonderful and revolutionary software, our great friend

    Andrew!
