I downloaded the trial version of 3D Coat a while back, and I'm impressed, especially with the voxel sculpting and retopology tools. I had a few questions at least one of which I couldn't find an answer to after searching so I thought I'd post them here.
1) What costs are associated with upgrading? I noticed on this site that an upgrade from V2 to V3 is $60. Is there any charge for point releases (such as 3.2 to 3.3)?
2) Does 3D Coat employ any form of DRM other than the occasional "phone home" and does 3D Coat ever require the user to connect to the net (for example shutting down if you haven't logged in in a while)? One of my major reasons for migrating to Linux is to keep my system free from excessive DRM (malware).
3) Does Pilgway expect to continue supporting Linux throughout the life of the application?
4) Does 3D Coat tend to work well across different distributions? My most used distros are Arch Linux 64-bit and Ubuntu 32/64-bit. Should I anticipate any problems?
