Wow! Looking really good.

Are you going to keep working on it? If so, keep posting.
-
Love it!

These look great. Good work!

i fink they mixed new technology with sculptris
That's what it looks like to me too. Can't wait to find out though. Till then, all speculation.
-
Looks great! I don't have a phone to play it on but the video looks fun.

I think you're off to a good start. His eyes are really far apart on the sculpt IMO. I think that's one thing that's hurting the likeness. Hope you keep at it and keep posting progress.

That would make a cool T-Shirt. "Hi, My name is_____and I'm a recovering (IMAGE) Couch Potato!"
rofl - good catch! I could wear that one!

Thanks Michalis & Tony! I know I didn't make the best use of the UV space when I stitched them together in Blender but I've never done that before. Good to know how though and it was fairly easy. I appreciate you both taking the time to comment.

Couch getting boring by now I know but wanted to post update. I think I like the last one better. Anyway I stitched together the UV maps that I could in Blender. I'm probably going to work on this a little more (mainly the stitches), or just go back to the previous version. It's just a background prop so I know I'm over thinking/working this.

Point taken.

Thanks Markus & Michalis both. I'll try again on the fabric. I think I understand what you're describing Michalis. I think I can do that in Lightwave.
Markus, that sounds like it just may work. I'm going to give it a try. I've tried to export the strips that come with 3D Coat to PSD but that crashes the program every time. I did let it submit a bug report. I thought I could see the layer setup better that way but no joy because of the crashes.
I'm having fun AND learning new things with this project so it's purpose is being realized. Also gotta remember that (in the animation) this couch is small and was made by and for a rat. They're not known for their craftsmanship! lol

Thanks Tony - that's the kind of feedback I hope for, and I agree with you.
-
Rat's couch. Don't know if he'll sit on it in the animation I'm working on but it's built to scale just in case. Tried to get the fabric about the right weave size for size of the couch (small, rat size). Model/UV/Retopo in 3D Coat.
The background is just a stand-in for now but it's not far off the look I'm wanting.
Thanks for looking!

I can work on the skin texture more,i kept this one kind of simple and yeah hes not a bad guy,I hadnt thought of a body but i can try one. I was basically trying a couple of new brushes out and turned it into what he is.I had no plan on what i was making just having fun.
I know what you mean. I fooled around and created the rat (head only) back in November. Finally decided to build the rest of the body so I could have my own characture to practice animation with this month.
-
I think he's really cute. Hope he's not supposed to be a bad guy. Are you going to add a body?

I really enjoy twitter too. I get a lot of feedback when I post wip there, have problems in general or just want to share a thought or two. Also nice when other artist post links to their work, tutorials etc. I don't like facebook. Have an account but don't use it. Google+ is great so far. I really like having circles.
So if you want, follow me on twitter!

Wow! Beautiful!

The horse and your other 2D paintings are great, nice work...
I hope to put some time into Messiah myself soon, a good start on the animation...
Thanks Digman! It's been fun learning it so far. Still tweaking, and tweaking. Good practice.
-
I like your horse head. Great expression.
Can't wait to see next mouse video.
Thanks Garagarape! I'm working on tweaking his 'pushing the cheese' video today. I always see something else I don't like.
-
Lookin' good Digman!
-
Great start, Greg! I see frustration ahead when he tries to get it through the door. Maybe a partner with a misery-whip (two man saw) will show up.
Thanks Tony! The end is a surprise but you may not be far from wrong.

Here's a rat I created in voxels, retopo & UV map in 3D Coat to give me a character to help learn Messiah and get some more 3D Coat practice. I painted it in ZBrush mainly cause it's easier for me. I sculpted the head months ago but just finally got around to finishing the body. I created the cheese in 3D Coat & used autotopo on it.
First animation tests:
Anyhow hope you like it! C&C appreciated.
Help With My Possibly Illegal 3dsMax Master Plan?

Didn't you mention you were layed off recently? Autodesk has a program for that. (I wanted to say app, but... );
check it out. I know the title says students, but it's for 'displaced professionals'. I don't know what country you live in, but know it's good for US at least. And, not just for 3ds max.

Hope that helps,
