  1. The author did not seem to know what he got there, Pixologic did - and shut it down. They even managed to look nice on the way. But I knew Sculptris was dead the day Pixologic aquired it.

Not sure what you mean there. Do they plan stopping development on it? Why would they release alpha 6? I think it will just keep improving. It's hard for me to see Pixologic as bad guys. I bought ZBrush 2 and haven't had to pay for an upgrade yet.

I love sculptris. IMO it is the best organic modeling program at the moment. The brushes behave exactly the way they should. And with GoZ working... fantastic.

Michalis, I'm curious about your workflow. I'll have to look up some of your previous posts unless you want to give a short paragraph on it here.

  2. I'm not a good critic, but think you're off to a nice start. The only thing that really stands out as 'wrong' to me is the feet. They're bending at a pretty strange angle. But, for all I know that's the way you wanted them. Anyhow, keep posting your progress!

  3. Good likeness, Greg! You might be doing caricatures for the New Yorker. :good:

Thanks Tony. :) My ambition went out the window long ago. I'm happy if my wife likes my drawings though. :D

It's funny - she doesn't draw, but has a great eye for what's wrong with a drawing. That's very helpful when I'm stuck.

  4. Been practicing 2d painting lately. Here's my latest - Don Knotts. You can tell what era I grew up in based on the characters I work on (Herman Munster, Don Knotts) lol. I really want to model him in 3D Coat one day - maybe as Barney Fife with his deputy hat on. I used to paint & airbrush portraits but am pretty inexperienced painting them in Photoshop. Definite learning curve but I'm enjoying it.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share. :)

  5. I'd mentioned it didn't work with the Spacepilot, but do hope they plan on adding support for it. Even if not, my spacepilot works great for 3D Coat and Photoshop - the 2 main apps I bought it for (works with several other apps too). So, smile... be happy!

  6. Looks like they have a promising driver out (in beta). Unfortunately not for my spacepilot (standard, not pro) yet. :(
