Wow, what awesome help for a 3d newb!!!!!! You guys are a God send! Thanks for all the info, really. I'll use Catch 123d for faces/heads and other objects (Autodesk offers a good bit for free with Catch 123D which i think could be pretty useful), and AbnRanger's advice for what all that will add to my endeavors. Perfect. After i become a Master at everything 3d, i'll share what skills i will have acquired as much as possible. If anyone needs any help in the audio/daw field btw, i can definitely help in the arena, as i've spent the last 25 yrs mastering it (my work: wordsong. info), hoping i can now integrate it in with short films using Poser. I will try to keep my questions to a minimum since i'm new and all, but i have searched about this and can't find anywhere whether or not 3DC can create a 3D head from a photo of someone's face. I don't think 'photo painting' is the same thing, correct? I know realityPaint can do this, but i can't afford both programs. I saw where it has photo painting in the feature list, but that's just painting a texture or photo, right? ..which isn't the same as wrapping a photo of someones face around a 3d head? Hi everyone, i'm new to 3D-Coat, and i'm about to buy either the educational version or the Pro version, but i can't seem to find a 'compare versions' pdf or html file anywhere on the site. Is there one? If not, is the following abridged snippet of info all there is to go by? Limitation of Education version: 1) no commercial usage 2) textures size to export is limited to 2048x2048 3) layers amount is limited to 7 Anyway, great to be here. Hope i can help some after i learn the app as well as be helped. Blessings to all.. Tim
