  1. Are they all compatible with the latest beta of 3D Coat ?

    yes

Can they be removed once they are installed and if so, how ?

open the 3DCPack with winzip, winrar or 7zip and follow the name files to delete it manually

    Ok thanks Carlosan. ;)

  2. Ok, I am a little past the complete noob stage and want to add the 3DCPacks from the main page to my app and have a few questions before I do. Are they all compatible with the latest beta of 3D Coat? Can they be removed once they are installed and if so, how?

    Thanks,

    NM

  3. When I was learning the background image stuff I was able to consistently crash the app but I am a noob and we are usually the best beta testers.  :D  So in the future, even if it is a noob mistake, should we report it so an error handler can be added in the future?

    Thanks,

    NM

  4. Thanks Carlosan,

I just found and watched this too:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiAO5uO2m7E#t=0

I was referring to the background image I added that filled the whole workspace background under Camera-Add Background Image. Probably was using the wrong method for a reference image. :)

    Thanks,

    NM

p.s. I still can't figure out how to remove my background image but I now know how to add a reference image. :) I can restart the app and the background is still there. I guess I need to delete the xml file??

  5. I figured out how to add a background image so I have a reference to help me create a prop. I chose some images that were too large and tried to resize them but couldn't figure out how. I decided to undo the background image and ctrl-z does not undo it. How do you remove a background image?

    Thanks,

    NM

  6. Ok, another noob question. Sometimes I need a kickstart! :o  On another thread I asked about my paintbrush looking like it had a texture that I didn't like the looks of. I was expecting a smooth shape when I sculpted using the MOVE tool in Voxel Sculpting and I got what looked like a jagged animal horn. So although I could turn up the resampling, it looked like a lot of extra weight in MB added. Then I thought maybe I am just using the wrong scale when I work? Like using the smallest sphere to start and zooming in on it. So I used a larger sphere and thing were much better. So my question: :D  What is the best procedure to use in getting the proper scale for your object? For instance, if I want to make a pair of boots for an avatar should I just bring in the avatar and size using it as a size or scale example? Or, make the object large and scale it down to size for best resolution? Advice and suggestions anyone? I am a noob at this as I have only had it 5 days. And pretty new to 3D in general.

    Thanks,

    NM

  7. Hi Guys,

Noob question it is. It seems that I have an unwanted effect or pattern on my brush that I cannot figure out how to get rid of. I start with a sphere under Voxel Sculpting and use the Move tool. The brush or tool I can resize and it has some red lines coming to a point facing upwards (don't know if that is my problem or not). When I try to sculpt the shape I draw or Move always looks like it has a pattern or edge on it like jagged edges where I want it to be smoothe. If I use Hide, it it rough around the edges. Is that all adjustable? It seems like I have an effect turned on but I can figure out how to turn it off.

    Thanks,

    NM

  8. :) I too have just run into this situation. I started expanding my learning and made a mess. Now when I draw using the MOVE I get non solid shapes. Like a saw blade. I agree a Reset EVERYTHING would be very handy.

    Thanks,

    NM

  9. Hi guys,

Looks like you fixed it except maybe one more bug. The one file in 2 places (Brushes and Other) named "Alaric\'s Negative Volume Pack v1.0" looks like it may have the wrong extension as when I try to download it it shows up as:

    Alaric_Negative.0

I tried downloading it from both places and it appears to be the same file and shows up the with the same name either place. The rest of the files show up with the extension ".3dcpack" so this looks incorrect. But I may be wrong. Just pointing it out just in case.

    Thanks,

    NM

  10. Hi,

I just installed 3D Coat today and went ahead and checked out the extra User Made Packages and decided to download them right away so i wouldn't forget. I noticed all the names of the files are unique names  like "IyIGgCtj" etc. I downloaded and saved them with their default names. Now is that gonna cause  problem and I should redo all of them and name them according to what they are, or will they install like that without an issue?

    Thanks,

    NM
