  1. hello there,

as of personal reasons, I want to sell my 3DC 4.x educational license.

(I saw quiet a few people selling there licenses, so I hope it will be ok to do so)

You can grab it for 75$ instead of the 99$, if you wish!

just PM me for the details...

    Cheers!

  2. ahhh, ok. So no AUTOPO, but manual re-topo ;)

    @Tony Nemo

Yes, I did it the way, you described - but got the results, like I mentioned... maybe it was an older version, I will try the

latest one and see, if it will work.

    Cheers

  3. hmmm - did not get, what you mean.... I think "doing re-topo by hand, but with 'constrained' shapes"?

The thing I experience is, that edges are not preserved as straight verticle or horizontal lines - instead they are kind

of "winding" or turning - even when hand-painted some straight lines in...

So the loops are going kind of diagonal thru/over the object - kind of hard to explain for me (got no image to show

    you atm)

    Cheers

  4. Hello,

I wanted to create a chain that links two objects - I found out, there are some splines-premade and there is one for a chain.

But how to draw along 3D in a controlled way? Like having the chain in a certain position?

Or is it more like you draw in top orthographic perspective and then switch to a side view and

Reposition the chain! To make it fit in this axis?

  5. Yeah, the current auto retopo has it's problems and I am glad Andrew has decided to work it over after 4.5 is released. The only thing I can think of his turning it into a voxel model and fill voids to see if it will not hang.  Try just green guides. I had meshes hang too and you go grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

I am running out of suggestions... LOL.

Auto Retopo needs the reworking to fix the issues that have been brought a number times... Andrew I am sure will make the routine better and more stable when he returns to it.

I am hoping for that, too!

This Auto-retopo-feature was one main reason for me, to buy this software

(among beeing cheaper but about as capable, than Zbrush4)

Really hope, this will be improved/fixed soon!

For my PBR needs, I already got Substance Designer & Painter, i use 3DC´s painting

for handpainted style texturing, only - so 4.5´s PBR feature-set is not that important (for me)

    - but that´s only me ;)

    Cheers!

  6. Ok, here is what I meant:

    post-38872-0-69683500-1422910834_thumb.p

The skulls and the background (a pillar) are 2 seperate volumes.

I merged them into one single voxel-layer, so I can use the "fill brush" on the intersections froms skull->plate

    to smooth them out.

    See here (yellow marks):

    post-38872-0-36652400-1422911121_thumb.p

Now, what I asked was, if there is a way to smooth/fill the intersection areas without joining this two volumes?

    Cheers!

  7. hi,

I wonder if there is a way to use the fill tool on two seperate objects, to fill up intersections/small gaps between them?

It usually only works, when you "merge/copy/move" them on the ame layer in voxel-tree - but what when you want the objects

to stay seperate, but also smooth out some areas?

I tested some settings for the "Ghost object handling" - but no success at all :(

So there is no other way, but joining the objects?

    Cheers!

  8. hi there,

I have a question, regarding "boolean operations" in voxel mode:

If I put together to cubes, so that there will be some intersection and confirm that by clicking "add" - I get one volume, instead of two seperate ones.

Now, the thing is, there seem to be a volume in a volume, like the parts, where the two cubes intersect with each other were not deletet, but still there...

Is there a setting, to just delete them? I do not need a box (that can not be seen) in another box - you get, what I mean?!

    Cheers!
