  1. Thanks for the videos, AbnRanger. Wait, so if I'm "supposed" to import my reference mesh to the sculpt room, why is there a menu option specifically made for importing a retopo reference mesh? The program even directs me to this with the opening dialogue box. (my mesh was already decimated to 1 million polys, so I used the first option) The strange thing was I checked the tool settings in both instances, and spline point density was set to 100% in both cases. I assume there was something weird going on with my mesh, I must have checked something I shouldn't have when using the import tool. Either way, using the dedicated reference mesh import option ended up working for me in the end. I imported a reference mesh to the retopo room, started retop on it, and was able to export the retopo mesh pretty painlessly. Thanks again for the help and the videos.
  2. Hi, digman, thanks for the reply! I'm using 4.7.06, it's good to hear it's fixed in the newest beta. In the end I figured how how to improve the shading display on the default shader, so I just stuck with the mesh I imported directly into the retopo room.
  3. Hello, I've been wondering if there's a way to change the shader used on meshes in the retopo room? The contours of my mesh are very hard to see. I tried importing it into the sculpt room first, as suggested in another thread I found, but the strokes tool wouldn't work correctly in the retopo room (it was turning complicated strokes into straight lines). Imported to retopo room as reference mesh: same stroke drawn onto mesh imported into sculpt room (without voxelization) - no changes to scale: So I can't use the sculpt room import method to solve this... Is there any way to adjust the shader on the retopo room model? Changing environment panoramas seem to help slightly, but not enough. I don't really need PBR for retop, is there any way to disable it while in the retopo room so i can just have a plain shader on the model?
  4. Thanks Carlosan, I decided to retopo using the manual tools. I'm not very good at it, and it's taking me a long time, but hopefully I will get better.
  5. I'm absolutely puzzled by Autopo. I read the guide and tried multiple settings, but the results I keep getting are jumbled polygonal garbage. Based on what I'm seeing and reading about Autopo and how it works for others, I'm convinced I've got to be doing something wrong, because the results I'm getting are terrible. This was the result I got when asking for a 4k(!) poly mesh: Here is my original mesh, for comparison: The results I've seen from others are much, much better than this. What could I be doing wrong here? Any suggestions?
