  1. Definitely. Problem is, those videos show what the features are, not really how to use them. And yes, I've been in many betas, both as a usage and production ends. I've also produced and/or updated the documentation for years on said projects for both internal and external use. There are systems specifically for producing this kind of thing as a product develops, but they say it's on the way, and that's good enough for me. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. I appreciate the effort and the complexity, but I'm also very aware, from a business standpoint, the user-perception side of things and was just pointing this out. And yes, actually a lot of betas have at least basic documentation ready before the public ever sees it so that the potential customers don't get frustrated and leave. It's also necessary so that actual bugs can be reported with any validity. This can't be done if there isn't an understanding of how the product is suppose to perform, even if it isn't complete.
  2. I'm not finding any docs, tutorials, or even videos on how to use 2021. Since this version is so different from previous releases, this should have been done, or at least some kind of wiki page or something, before you started beta. You have some short teaser demos on youtube on what it can do, but nothing I can find on specifically how. You're not really doing yourself any favors releasing software that your customers can't figure out, especially if you're wanting feedback. We can't tell you what's wrong if we don't know what to do. If it exists, then I apologize, but it needs to be made much more obvious. If not, then why are you releasing something that's just going to cause frustration for a large portion of your users?
  3. So, specifically to those of us that currently have the amateur license (which I'm guess is a large portion of your customers): Your announcement page here: https://3dcoat.com/2021announcement/ States that "All the 3DCoat Professional type licenses purchased by individuals from August 1, 202 until the release of 3DCoat 2021 will get a Free Upgrade to 3DCoat 2021 Individual". Does this include amateur users that UPGRADE to pro during this time, or is this only good for people that buy a completely new copy of Pro? It then states "All the 3DCoat Amateur type licenses purchased anytime until the release of 3DCoat 2021 will get a Discounted Upgrade rate to 3DCoat 2021 Individual license, regardless of where you purchased." However, you fail to state what that upgrade price is going to be. So the question you need to specifically answer, right now, is: For your customers that currently have an amateur license and want to upgrade to 3D Coat 2021 Individual license, will it be more cost-effective to upgrade to Pro now and get the free 2021 upgrade, or wait until release and pay the special upgrade price then? I know you want to wait and announce all this stuff along with your new website and so on, but since parts of this offer are time-sensitive and you don't provide all the information necessary to make an informed decision, you are going to have a lot of angry customers if they make the wrong decision and then ultimately discover that it would have been cheaper to choose the other. Needless to say, that's not going to be very good for your business. Please clarify this for those of us that want to give you money. Thank you.
  4. Spoke too soon. Two hours into a retopo and suddenly the problem is back. This time deleting that folder did nothing. Weird thing is, starting a new project and testing it like you suggested above works, but when I open up the file I was working on, the problem is still there.
  5. Cool. Removing that folder seems to have fixed things. It must have copied over the old presets and stuff with each new version I installed. Thanks for the help
  6. No. I'm using the Windows 64 bit version. And like I said, maybe this has something to do with installing the demo version first and upgrading to the licensed version within the demo version rather than doing a clean install.
  7. Okay, so I uninstalled the program, downloaded it from the link provided in my registration email (as opposed to the original public demo page) and reinstalled. Same thing. I don't know if it was a clean install though because it didn't ask for my registration number again, it just started up. Next I uninstalled again and then installed the 3d-Coat-V4_7-26A-64 beta. Still the same thing. Interesting thing is that no matter what version I install, when I start the program, the name in the title bar always starts out saying (Beta) as it's launching, then at some point switches over to (Educational). This includes the beta version. Is it supposed to do that? Other interesting thing for further bug testing: If I do an action and then hit undo twice, the action is undone as expected. If I then immediately hit undo a third time before I've done anything else, then do a new action, and hit undo ONCE, the action is undone. (hope you can follow that) So it definitely seems to be caching whatever that mysterious non-undo is somewhere, and even after you do the new action, it's still remembering that that additional undo has already been done.
  8. If it helps, I downloaded the demo last week, then upgraded to the amateur edition and just entered the key without any reinstall. Now when I open the program, at first it says 4.7.24(DX64)(Demo), then switches to 4.7.24(DX64)(Educational). I'll try reinstalling the latest and see if that makes any difference.
  9. So every time I want to undo something, I have to press Ctrl-Z twice. Has anyone else seen this? It's very annoying and was wondering if there was a fix for it. For instance: I use the transform tool to move something and want to move it back. I press Ctrl-Z once and nothing happens. If I press it again, it undoes the move. If I want to go back an additional step, I have to press two more times. This is pretty consistent and happens on pretty much all operations on all tools. And no, it's not just a question of not waiting long enough. I've tested pretty extensively. It's like the program is adding some additional step in between each one in the list. Any ideas?
