  1. This is more of a technical question than a program use question, but I don't see a forum category for it. I'm running a 64 bit Windows 7 OS with 8GB of RAM. Whenever I start 3d coat (64 bit version) it shows me with about 3600 mb (~3.6G) of memory available. Looking at the performance manager ( CTRL-ALT-DEL) I see this for memory : Total: 8151 Cached: 3321 Available: 6588 Free: 3351 After reading up on it, I found that Vista OS's ( Windows 7) use a "Super Fetch" system and caches certain frequently used thing in memory but relinquishing the memory if needed. I assume thats why the Performance manager shows 3G free while 6G is available. My question is why doesn't 3d Coat see the available memory and just the free memory? Could I have my system set up wrong? Will 3d Coat go into the available memory if if I start working on some high rez models? Thanks. Aside here : I purchased the program today. I had been trying it for a couple of weeks, but the $350 price tag was a bit steep for me. I don't know if its something new or I missed it before, but I was extremely happy to find a $99 version for hobbyists, non-commercial use. I wish more programs were as reasonable.
  2. I just saw the new set of beginner tutorials, and wanted to say how much appreciated they are. They do an excellent job in demonstrating the workflow and features without getting lost in nuances and fussing. Very well done. And nice rat, btw
  3. If there is a manual that describes the workflow, please direct me to it. I want to import an object and sculpt it as Voxels. I choose the Voxel sculpting area and the folder to open sample.obj in the samples folder. The obj imports and a window titled "Tool Options" pops up. If I close that window in error, how do I get it back? Is it somewhere in the "pop ups" list? What it called? I don't see a "tool options" pop up. Beyond that, ( I restart the program and make sure not to close that window again) I click on the "apply" button in the tools option menu and I see a voxels model inside of the object I just imported. How do I get rid of the object I just imported so I can just work with the voxel model? Again, if this work flow is described somewhere, please direct me to it. Also, is there any type of zoom extents command? Thanks. Edit: Never mind, I found it again. I'm not doing this on purpose. It just seems I don't see it until after I post! The object husk disappears after you select another tool and you can get that "tools option" window back by clicking the merge tool.
