  1. I would love to see the option to rotate the camera without alt by clicking off model. using a tablet for everything, I prefer to be able to do as much as possible without having to hold buttons down all the time.

Sorry if I gave you my not pro opinion, but I actually love to use 3D Coat with my Wacom tablet on right hand AND 3D Connexion SpaceNavigator on left hand.

You don't need to use keyboard and the price for this 3D mouse is not really expensive.

I use a lot of different program and with it I don't have to remember all the different setting (believe me all the program use different way to handle 3d view, I don't know why!!!!)

  2. BIG thanks to Luo Chen (lc8b105) for really HUGE work over new manual.

I was not able to update manual well but he has done it !!!

Manual has grown in volume almost twice.

Please give your feedback and post syntax/logical errors there if you will find.

Thanks for the new manuals! It helps a noob like me to really understand all the function.

Of course thanks to lc8b105 for helping Andrew that as some volumetric things to do!

    Ciao

  3. There was some restrictions last two days on board - all new topics was moderated before actual posting to avoid mass spam attack (you have seen it).

Now we have set new category of users - "Approved". You will come there after 5 overall posts. So, after posting 1 new post you will be moved to this group and will be able to create topics without moderation, you will be able to delete own post/topics.

If you have better idea for name, please tell :)

No problem, but can you confirm that in this two day the already read messages are not automatically mark as read?

(I don't remember how many post I have done.... I want to be Approved!)

  4. Wow! Really awesome! Only floor requires some dirt.

No problem Andrew, Max is the master of the dirty texture (as you can see in his render)!

Anyway, very well done Max, finally some "real" picture (with dirt, scratch, irregularity), not only photoreal image.

I purchase 3D Coat for this reason, but 'til now I have not time (and skill) to do such work.

I want to see the charcoal fire....

  5. At first i tried by UV mapping all models as you usually would do, then paint, then export the colormap, then remap that on my previously uvmapped mesh. But as i wrote above they always mismatched. I know they shouldn't do that, but they still did..

Thanks for your tips, useful as always!

I'm trying some different workflow as you do, because I have some little problem with industrial design object (made in moi). Here in this forum the most (obviously) are skilled character designer, with different problem.

So... I will take advantage of your advice! (if it's not a problem for you  )

    Thanks again

  6. Another update, now i painted the texture required for the other grip type tool laying on the anvil. This model had to be partially rebuilt and fixed because it contained some nasty mesh errors which caused 3DC to crash as i were about to paint it. However it's all taken care of now with Modo. :)

Hi Max, nice to see you here. Very promising beginning.

Can I ask you which are the import setting you use for the grip? What about UV mapping (done in C4D, Modo or 3DCoat)?

Do you planned to export only color texture or also diplacement (or normal) maps with 3DCoat for this project?

    Thanks for you time

  7. I have bought 3d Coat for the price. I'm an hobbiest and that price was reasonable.

I don't need voxel sculpting but I need another of the upcoming feature of the v3 : Importing Geometry without subdividing the mesh (hope it is still in Andrew plan http://3dbrush.kriska.hvosting.net/forum/i...showtopic=1253). I know that the price raise more for the voxel sculpting respect the other feature but I probably update anyway.

Some program use a different type of update for new customer: ALL dot release and ALL the release within the year.

In any case the license for the 2.10 never expired, so I can use what I paid for.

  8. falcon76,

If your model isn't properly UV-mapped you just import the model and choose 'Auto-mapping' as mapping type

(this will be default for un-mapped imports). Paint/Sculpt to heart's content. Then in your external

UV-mapping software you'll want to UV your model (either with your sculpted 3dC model exported out,

or with your original model). Once that's done, you just go to 'File->import uv-set' and select your

nicely UV-d model....3dC will use that UV-set when you then export out your final painted/sculpted model

(you'll have to re-export once you've changed UV-sets if you want your 3dC textures to work with

    your new UV-set) and textures.

    Hope that helps. :)

    That helps for sure.

    Thanks

  9. otherwise you can just choose the automap option and paint/sculpt away...

with the intention of re-importing your model with proper UVs later

Wailingmonkey, please, can you explain better your second statement? Assume that my model is not properly UVmapped (some program don't do this). I have to UVmap in an external software (uvmapper,lithunwrap...) and import it along with the model?

I know is a basic question, I'm trying to start with some painting/sculping, but I need some advice!

Thanks (and sorry for my english, hope you can understand me)

    Luca
