  2. This was working for me in Blender 2.69 but here on the eve of 2.70 (2.69.11 is precisely my build) - Simple is no longer working for me, but the original applink does still. I'm on Windows 8 64bit using 3D Coat 4.0.16

     

    I have 2.69.11 Linux build. All works ok. Do you get any error when press "ExportObjects"?

    - Make sure you set Exchange folder in the addon settings.

    - Try to get latest sources from here https://code.google.com/p/blender-addons-by-mifth/source/browse/#hg%2Fio_simple_3dcoat

  4. Is there a way to get this to work?

    I've tried both the default add-on, and this one, on both Windows 7 and Mac, and neither one of them do what I thought it would do.

    It does export the model to the directory I selected, but it does NOT launch 3d-coat.

    Am I missing some sort of setting that needs to be changed in 3d-coat itself?

     

    As @carlosan said you need to open 3DCoat.

    And Exchange directory should be set correctly. In Windows it should be "Documents/3DCoatV4/Exchange". And you should save Exchange directory with Ctrl+U. I'll make a video tutorial soon.

  6. Can someone update me as to the status of the two 3D-Coat applink addons? There is one from Haikalle in Blender numbered version 3.5.20 and there is the Simple 3D-Coat applink version 0.3 which looks to be a collaboration by Haikalle and Paul Geraskin. Are either of these current, does one function better than the other, are either still under development?

    Simple3DCoat addon is a fork of the official Hainkalle's addon. At present, only me have been developing the simple3DCoat addon. But any developer/tester is welcome.

    At present, official script has some bugs which should be fixed.

    My Roadmap for 0.4 version:

    - Add option for Collada and FBX export/import. As they have more features like multiple UVs, animation etc.

    - Use groups for importing objects. In this way we can replace objects properly.

     

    I will also make another topic for simple3DCoat, as this topic is for the official script.

  7. Hi mifth, to clarify, this is what I meant...I'm not sure if it's possible, but I would come in very handy.

    Aha, i get you. But it seems they are buggy. If I put my obj file there i get a crash every time when i select my model there.

    The only proper way i found just to export models as Voxel Primitive.

    I also found that [voxcombine] mode does not work. It makes nothing. It even does not import models.

    Can you check it?

    I tried like this for import.txt:

    I found a bug with TexOutput.

    My import.txt file from blender:

    /home/mifth/3D-CoatV4/Exchange/BlenderSimple3DCoat/export.obj
    /home/mifth/3D-CoatV4/Exchange/BlenderSimple3DCoat/import.obj
    [ppp]
    [TexOutput:/home/mifth/Desktop/2223/aaa/]
    And i got textures.txt from 3DCoat:
    None
    None
    color
    /home/mifth/Desktop/2223/import_None_color.png
    None
    None
    normalmap
    /home/mifth/Desktop/2223/import_None_nmap.png
    The path for textures should be "/home/mifth/Desktop/2223/aaa/". "aaa" folder is missed.
    3DCoat 4.0.3, linux.
  10. Hi, Andrew Shpagin,

    Is it possible to support alpha channel for emissive map? (custom option in export dialog may be?). LW doesn't have separate channel for emissive color. I can place emissive map over basic color in layers, but this method requires alpha channel in texture.

    Lightwave does support it. You need to make your shader setup with nodes.
