Maybe I wasn't clearly enough: If I would buy your materials, for example the weathering ones: Can I use these materials and export them to Thea?

FOR THEA RENDER
Pipeline 1
Basic workflow :
Albedo translates in colour
AO translates in highlights with intensity tweaks regarding your light setup
Roughness translates in shininess
Metalness translates in reflection again you need to tweak Fresnel and refraction
Pipeline 2
https://www.thearender.com/site/index.php/features/substance-to-thea-material-converter.html
Unique FeaturesBy taking advantage of the Substance Engine, changes to the Substance files can be made inside the converter. The results can be applied automatically to a Thea material which the user can preview under different settings. Physically-based materials designed with the Metallic/Roughness template are automatically converted to their equivalent in the Thea material system. Additionally, the user can create his/her own combinations although the result is not guaranteed to be physically accurate. Batch conversion of Metallic/Roughness Substance files to Thea materials or to a Thea material pack is also supported.
Sorry I'm totally new to this with 3D Coat and PBR-Materials. I use C4D and Thearender. Does this mean that I model my house in my CAD, load it in 3DCoat, unwrap and paint it and make materials for what I want and then translate these 3D-Coat-materials to Thearender and can use all informations of it? If you're new to that it is like a big mountain to climb...

Today is the last day to get a discount. Do I need Quixel for Architecture visualizations when I have 3DCoat?

Vielen Dank!

The main thing for me is, how I feel with a software. I'm with C4D since years. I was angry because they dropped their policy of modules. Then I tried Modo and Blender, made video tutorials.
And now I'm back to C4D because there I feel comfortable.
Modo and Blender are for sure great products and Blender even for free, but it's not the software for me.
So try the programs as demo. Make some tutorials and maybe a small project. Then decide.
C4D is rock solid and all major render engines are there as plugin.

Hey, that's really great. I expected to hear a greek accent of you, but you speak like a native english speaker.
A BIG "thank you" for your video tutorial.
Even it's a bit hard to follow because of the low resolution of the video.
I will try tomorrow night. Now it's time for bed.

Super, thank you michalis. I'll give it a try.
-
Thank you michalis, but your link for the tut is broken for me.

@michalis
Do you know a good video tutorial to work with nodes in blender?
Is there anywhere a list which rendering features are supported now and which will be implemented in future?

Here is a render of a user called calli. Posted in the german forum blendpolis.de

I tried cycles only to see if it works for me. It works with my Notebook only using the CPU. And that's really fast. But I haven't run tests because I'm an absolute beginner with blender.

That would be very nice with a tutorial michalis, because it's all new to me with UV-Map, normal - and displacement map and so on. Like a new language for me!

I like it also very much. Looks very professional. I hope all menus are movable, so I can use both monitors. My own layout should be savable.

For me the quadrangulation is very useful, because I never have made an animation. I only make stills...

I think (but I don't know it) that they have copyright...

I did a quick test, first generate this displacement map using shadermap pro, then used it as brush shape to extrude voxel in 3DC, plus some hand painted modification.
The result mesh is about 840k triangles.
That looks really nice!

What I do not understand: You can show a "skin" over the voxels, so that I don't see the cubes but a surface. What is this skin? Why it isn't possible to take this skin and paint over it? Why is it so complicated with need to retopologize or to convert it into something different? It is clear, that if this would be a possibility, than it would have been integrated since the beginning. But I don't understand what this "skin" is. Do you have a short explanation for me, please?

Sweet!!!!!!!
I like it a lot...
Thanks!
3D Coat encourages me to have many new ideas what I want to sculpt - my creativity is reborn!

Fruits of yesterday's labor. Little nose study. I found it quite hard to make a nose without the rest of the face around it. Will do better next time (hopefully). Here is a great site to learn anatomy.

Thank you for that link - very useful!

Ok, many thanks for your explanation!
