It happens when 3dcoat imports a file with lots of mesh groups/material groups or both, that 3dcoat seems to endlessly cycle through the "Attempt to pack with scale x.xxxxxxx" and a percentage on the top of the screen. As the percentage goes several times from 0 to 100%, it gets confusing as to what it in fact is representing. Same goes for the progress bar. But if either one or both was a bit more specific, I think there would be a little less confusion. And if a certain file is causing problems importing into 3dcoat, it would be easier to isolate that part from the file, and import it separately (or something like that).
