New Member Democaliber Posted December 6, 2015 New Member Report Share Posted December 6, 2015 Import as Child being the new 'Separate Volumes' threw me for a loop. I'm wondering...when I change from the Sculpt room to the Retopo room, my mesh looks blown apart versus having my original HP model. Any idea as to what's going on? http://imgur.com/a/7iHY7 This is the album that has the two shots; the normal looking one has my model in the Sculpt room with the Volume 4 layer turned off...the other is what my model looks like in the Retop room. I'm sure I'm just missing a checkbox/option somewhere. Anyways, help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
Member Solution Percevan Posted December 6, 2015 Member Solution Report Share Posted December 6, 2015 Try and check "import without voxelization", ie: as a surface object import rather than a voxel one. In your screenshot you can see an estimated polycount of less than 200k, while I'd consider 10 times this number at least if you really need to use some voxel tools, considering the level of detail that you have in this particular mesh. New Member Democaliber Posted December 10, 2015 Author New Member Report Share Posted December 10, 2015 Yeah I didn't need to use voxel tools on that model. I was wanting to use 3D Coat purely for retopology/UV as I, in general, like it's toolset better than 3DS max. I'll give your suggestion a go on my next model. Cheers.
