Member Mix Mash Posted January 21, 2010 Member Report Share Posted January 21, 2010 I came across this small program by accident. http://www.meshmixer.com/ I think that Andrew should pay attention to this program because it can show you a way of creating boolean unions where the two objects keep their original meshes but the joining polygons utilise voxels to bridge the gap between the objects. So instead of turning both mesh objects into voxels only the weld is voxels making unified meshes more true to their original forms. I once imported a sword object into 3dcoat and the voxel version was terrible because it couldn't handle the thin edges. That's why I'm pushing for a mesh system like suggested above.
