Don't know what's going on, but I'm getting a lot of artifacts/broken meshes in Surface mode, with Auto-subdivide on in brush settings. It's affecting any sculpt I start. In version 2025.09 it was happening from time to time, in 2025.11 it is very frequent - brush stroke type doesn't matter.

Not sure where to ask this. I own 2022.57 and wondered if anyone can tell me some of the benefits of upgrading to 2025.  Thank you. I only use it from time to time when I get inspired.  

And please do not forget: A user desperately needs the ability to select and move multiple layers at once. This is a basic functionality, a 101 need for any painting/texturing software. Currently in 3D Coat painting/texturing, a user can not properly organize the layer stack effectively and quickly at any time, having to painstakingly move layers one by one e.g. to put them into a group after the fact. It already works beautifully inside the Sculpt Tree. Would be crucially needed for Paint Layers as well.

export/import is the only option  

Hey guys, does anyone know of a way fast way to export the albedo from the paint room right into the stencil or alpha collections that 3dcoat has? Is there a way to do it super fast? or would you just export and reimport the black and white image? The VDM brush creator is awesome (when it works properly :P ) in that it can just grab a 3D portion of your sculpt and immediately throw it into the alphas panel. I'd like to do some patterns in the paint room and grab any layer--> put it into the stencils or alphas panel as ast as possible. Any ideas? Thanks

3DCoat-2025-11 Thu Sep 18 12:55:15 2025 - Retopo/Modeling Room: "Select path" Bug was fixed. Now, clearing occurs when you press Esc.   Well that was fast. Thanks for that Gorbatovsky.  Works perfectly with a tool set popup too...fantastic.   

Also, are there any free or paid for tutorials on painting skin from start to finish??  I'm talking about in-depth like diffuse, normal, specular, fixing errors and exporting the texture maps?? I bought an in-depth one but it's for Substance Painter and I'm not a fan of that program so while I can sort of extract some info from the video's, the tools and techniques used in the video's don't match up with what's going on in 3DCoat so it confuses my old brain. So I have some stencils I'm using to cover large parts of my human figure mesh.  It's taking allot of fiddling with the settings like the gamma, brightness and all that from the stencil bar.  Is there a way to save out a stencil with all the enhancements from the bar?  I see a save option but it seems to be only for how the stencil is deformed.  If this save includes all these other changes like what I mentioned then I'll go for it.  If not I guess I'll need a way to save out what I have on screen if possible.    

This does not apply to Vector Displacement Maps for some reason, only alphas. but these I am showing are not alphas. But here is s VDM raw exr. file for you to test, you can try importing the same exact file to blender and it will be square ScalesRoundTightHF.exr
