Oh, by the way In few newer versions of 3DCoat textura same issue I described here also present, I tried only Stable releases

Hi! So I've been working on 2025.11 version since it was first released and payed today to have further one year update. I am constantly having issue with windows layouts resetting to default, so I thought update will fix it. And this partticular issue, well, was fixed.  On the other hand devs changed something critical about viewport or smth, that is not allowing me to work comfortably with Alpha cutout anymore.  My main go-to setting is showing lowpoly model.(6 on a keyboard)  See, it enables backface culling and getting rid of weird rendering way where borders of alpha texture showing all geometry below through them too. That being said - in 2026 releases (and I tried few of them) hotkey 6 is not working. Moreover - changing options in View menu does nothing (Yes im aware of linear texture filtering and backface culling option there) - wireframe on mesh is not turning yellow, as it was before on 2025 release. This leading me to another thing - when I am uploading my mesh - it has white aliased borders, with no texture applied at all. I dont know what the issue here with Viewport, but changing its settings does nothing too - it just broke. Below is screenshot of model, with Layer 0 disabled, no textures applied in Flat shading mode. Thode white boders are being on top of everything is just annoying..  Same mesh on my 2025.11 Textura relese have no such problem, Low-Poly option in Viewport working correctly. I dont know what changed, but feels like I will stick to my 2025.11 release for another year, cause updating on newer one is just not working for me and I have spent half of day already trying to find whats wrong. It is sad, that paying for update is kinda useless this time, but I hope this post will highlight one of a problems for people who works on pipeline like mine

There is 2 locations for json1.txt Try deleting it on C:\Users\<username>\Documents\3DCoat2026\data\Temp C:\Users\<username>\Documents\3DCoat2026\Temp

not sure what you mean... If you are talking about Focus on brush command - it is still there, in the activity bar. You can assign shift+z on it without any problems.

I find the "Online" App link is old and doesn't work well. Ive copied the py code from the 3dcoat "Install App Links Blender 4x) to the Blender foundation file for 5.2 - where ever your 3dcoat app link is and pasted over old code. Never needed to reset the location of the exchange folder. The folder mentioned by Dmitiriy Nos works. When I upgrade to 3dcoat 2026.24NS the Blender app didnt update.

@JulianC:\Users\...\Documents\3DCoat2026\Exchange is the most reliable path for exchange. Specify it in Blender settings as well.

Problem with multi layers is you can’t save the material to be used later. One needs to build all nodes in one layer so they can be saved and used again. Hopefully this will be fixed in future development of nodes.

Which is the correct Applink Exchange Folder for Blender? My AppLink does not work, I am not able to send or receive objects from and to 3DCoat/Blender. I am using 3DCoat for years and AppLink sometimes work, sometimes it does not, depending on the current version. Right now, I have three 3D Coat folders in my Documents:  - 3DCoat - 3DCoat2026 - AppLinks All of them include exchange folders. This is incredible confusing and I have no idea which folder path I should use to make the AppLink work. The documentation about the AppLink is outdated https://3dcoat.com/documentation/manual/getting-started/app-links/blender-applink/. I just want to send objects from Blender to 3DCoat and back again. Could someone please help me out? I am using Blender 5.2, 3DCoat 2026.24NS and AppLink Version 5.0.0

It's not an UI but Navi matter. I have asked to bring back the Shift+Z for years after the change to 2020+ change and I gave up. But I'll try again. Bring back the zoom with the focus of brush size. I don't have a single clue why you dropped it like that but it's crazy and it doesn't make any sense. . It was one of the most iconic and very useful feature that was unique for 3d coat the same way is rotate around current pick point.

Hi, The retopo tool Points to polygons doesn't work in 2026.24 I can make the points but I cannot make a surface from them. the RMB doesn't work

I finally got my grasp on slender long curved ribs. The Modeling room is indispensable for it. There were some struggles but I finally mastered the Modelling Room more or less to get what I wanted, which was to lay down a mesh with Quads and Points to Polygons, then  do a Smart Extrude and then a R-Fill to make it fully solid. Check the form you've set up in the Polygon Tree as well as a matching layer in the Sculpt Tree. Transfer tat form from the Sculpt Tree to the Sculpt Models. Then take that new form to the Sculpt Room  to turn that polygonal shape into voxels there.  Rework the voxels and then the same piece in surface with a light touch since it won't take much to just collapse or mess it up. Boost that polygon count to at least 50-70,000.  The pelvis was lots of testing and wrestling. It's still not finished actually. Just throwing the 3D Coat kitchen sink at it. Aside from the ribs the long bones are the most difficult. They're not simple sticks though if you were just building an animation structure who cares? But if you're trying to find some authenticity then they're very subtle things with ridges, hard and soft and swelling swaying structures           The Render Room has gotten better....

Thanks for your reply! 2926, huh? Looks like it will be a long wait. (Just kidding)

Alright then, thanks for letting me know. Glad its not only me lol

@GimilThe issue is known and is being fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

As in topic, each time I open 3DCoatTextura 2026 it resets windows layout to default reverting any changes made in layout and any panels added/removed. Tested with both NS and legacy version and tried few different versions of 2026 - 11, 12, 16, 24, but nothing works. This doesnt happen in 2025. Also tried reinstalling, removing all 3d coat related folders in Documents and AppData and relocating 3dcoat data to another folder but still doesnt work. I know there is option to restore workspace and it works, but its a bit annoying doing it each time i open 3dcoat, so I guess I will stick with 2025 in the meantime. Didnt see anyone having this problem so I guess its only me :/

I have this issue with 3DCoat where it suddenly started giving me errors 'unable to write to the folder', 'unable to rename the file from json1.txt' and 'writing to data folder is impossible due to lack of permissions!' on program startup and 'there is not enough disk space to write the file'. My settings are in C:\Users\%MyName%\Documents\3DCoat2026 Things I've already tried: Running 3DCoat as administrator - doesn't help. Deleting 3DCoat and 3DCoat2026 from documents folder - doesn't help, the program starts broken with no text anywhere Reinstalling 3DCoat - doesn't help I can't relocate settings to another folder because I can't close the 'File write error!' window and it prevents me from selecting anything.

Sorry I don't have access to v2023 anymore, but on 2026 is working as expected
