I recently made this short animation which required sculpting a coffee bean in 3D-Coat, then auto-retopoing and bringing it into LightWave where it was instanced many times to make the "floor" of the scene.
This was Episode 7 of my series, jWords, where each epoisode teaches a few Japanese words.
