I liked your wing experiments - I am also hoping to have a go at printing out some stuff- Have you looked at Ghostdogs thread out on his experiments with shapeway printers?
-
Thanks for that, please keep up the vids - also good to have save as - dont have very good internets at home -

Hi
I just wanted to share some shaders to the community - they work fine on my machines (running 3.1) - let me know of any issues- the BoneBump is based off of the DirtyStone default shader but with the difuse map made up from photos of bones. The Bone shader is a little less harsh on the shadowing that the current default.
Hope they are of use
Jake

Good result with your "mandrake" character - like the work on the detailing too.

Good to see your working process in 3D Coat - cheers.

Cheers LJB
Will be good to look at!

Cheers LBJ
Cheers Erkaerbar
Im also testing out works on similar theme using Unity - Tinker convinced me to pull my finger out after seeing his work/tests:
Rough vox sculpt I did a while back (test data) - then I did a quick bake down to quad mesh, with normals AO and material to texture
Unity view - still got to learn loads more on using the app - the above is just me messing about for an hour or so - using the "of course I didnt read the documentation" style workflow. Yet to get a build running on the web but will get there.

Great job on the hard surface weaopn Tinker - also a good sell on using unity3D engine - I definitly want to get myself a copy now. How much fiddling did you have tos do int Unity to do get the turn around working - I assume they have some simple templates ?
Anyway I will get onto thier forum and look at thier Q&A for noobs

Cool work - glad I visited this thread!

The SL stuff I assume thats second life work ?

I am continually amazed at the rapid progress of this app. Thumbs up Andrew and co.
And as for the the rest of you on this thread - do you folks ever sleep?

Cool - I like the way you have done the roots off of the body - very organic - looking forward to the next update

Reminds me of Dobby the house elf from Harry potter films.
I see you are an all Linux OS - whats your system details - I am curious to see if my machine would benifit from ubuntu/linux OS.

In response to your earlier coment on your workflow for your Zbrush webinar - I agree - conceptualise (PLAY FUN!!CREATE !!!) first then refine the geo with retopology - I am from a games modeling background, I find my digital sculpting work is far too tentative.
One of the reasons I bought 3DCoat was to lift these (self imposed) restrictions to my work - so also looking forward to seeing what comes out of ZSpheres2 as it seems much more voxely approach (if there is such a word).
Yeah good to see some quality art/skill and how to use the app in a tut.

Hi Ghostdog - I am also i n Brisneyland - was wondering who you were using for your 3D printing - and how you were finding pricing.
Cheers
Jake
Hope to see more of your prints soon.
EDIT - DUH READ THE FIRST POST !!!!
Keep it up !!!!

Leigh - great work on the webinar - I enjoyed trying to block out at the same time while you were doing your thing- but you knocked out the model stupid quick - so I had to stop and just sit and watch towards the middle - good job.
I hope you do more, well worth getting up for at 5AM in the morning.

nice work jake, maybe you would want to make the hair out of a seperate voxel object so that you can colour it? I havent ever read french comics but the art looks so stylish Id like to see more.
Ja will probably try a version with the hair as a separte vox - Cheers for the feedback- my sketch has turned from girl to a dude - so will drop off two versions one guy one gal (as per LJB feeback re- brow).
-
Cheers for the update Andrew - downloading now.
Looking forward to having a good play -
