Hi
I am working with a voxel sculpt and I want to change my position of my x symetry - How can I do this in 3Dcoat ? I have tried cloning the object to a new layer and moving it to where I want the symmetry to be.
I have reset the symetry with the object at the new place - whith no result.
Effectively I want to freeze the objects transforms at its new position. (please excuse the Maya speak)
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Good thread
Has anyone asked for a rake brush - or is it in allready in current version and I just havent figured it out?
-
That's interesting. It looks like the photos can only be from one angle though. I'm hoping to get a full 3D object like a tea pot or a game controller.
I managed to convert some photos a turtles head into a full turn around - but be aware that changes in focal depth and too much of a diference between shots in a sequence (not enough image overlap) will result in errors- as far as I understand it the software callibrates from the texture detail and "noise" in the object - so smooth object with flat lighting dont convert well.

Cheers Phil
Interesting thread.
I have been playing with 3Dsee - also photo based - although you send your pics to thier server and they then process it and dump a mesh into your gallery (at this stage a low poly mesh in .dae format) - but its free. You can then put your object into thier creative commons gallery.

Wow somone has been busy !!!
Great stuff!!!

Nice QUAKE style cyborg Tinker - good to see your workflow.

Some more playing around with the voxel sculpting component of 3Dcoat
Tortose skull study - I am obsessed with bones - hence why I love the Voxel sculpting component - easy to create holes in surfaces- very organic.
Also a torso study ( female - duh ) - stilll working on it based from a cylnder primitive. The chest area is being worked on as you can see from the scrape tool - and ribcage needs work. (Looking at a combination of greek sculptures - and more modern stone torso studies).

Cool this study is looking good- Look forward to seeing more updates to the sketchbook

Hi
Fantastic software/app Andrew - looking forward to getting my credit card and buying it.
I was wondering if there was any chance of setting a some sort of lattice deformer (maya) or ffd modifyer (3dsMax ) for voxel sculpting ( unless its already in there ).
Basically some way you can adjust proportions on certain sections of a mesh say the top half of a torso - perhaps even a similar UI to the intial creation of a capsule - or something like Mayas lattice deformer which allows you define the number of control points.
Anyone else think this approach will fit in with 3D Coats workflows?

Yeah good link
Nice level of work there!!

Hi
I am busy playing with the demo, and I have overwritten some of the default voxel shaders trying t o create some new shaders.
How do I reset the shaders back to the defaults? (its not in the manual as far as I can tell)
Also - It would be good to see some sort of hypershade tree (yes I'm a Maya user) of the voxel material so one can check out the defaults before i break em.

Hi been watching this app for a while.
I am just down loading the Alpha and I am going to give it a good play.
This software looks good - I hope I can give some relvant feedback.
Good for Zbrush and Mudbox to have some competition.
Keep up the good work, its truely amazing how the software has developed so rapidly.
