  1. Silo is complementary app, its speed is almost unbeatable, but i still use maya for other thing than modeling. Its a pity this is so flawed really, cause that aside its a pleasure to model with it.
  2. The difference is one company respect its customers the other not. I'm glad i bought 3dc i can't say that anymore about silo.
  3. Totally second that. Especialy for hard surface sculpting...
  4. You're joking right ? You're talking about the software that is so mature that it crashes every 30 minutes, and had no update for 1 year with moderators who ban you from the forum for saying it ? Anyway, Andrews is doing a good job at bufixes so far at an astonishing rythm, I hope he keeps going like that, not like some traitor si** software developpers... And at least he got a 2.0 version which is stable and perfectly usable.
  5. I i may add: ctrl+z shouldn't bring the voxtree anymore ^^
  6. Exactly my thought. Right now the pinch tool only crease a somewhat "flat" region, it doesnt make clear "insets". We definitely need a way to make thin/narrow scratches, and no brush have this capacity right know, this would be a nice way to solve this problem. Andrew, i find 3dioot suggestion kinda interesting too, you should look into it, this would lead to significative enhancement in the sculpting field.
  7. Small bug in 3.00.08c cuda dx64 : if you hide the brush tray, you can't use shortcuts for brushes. (surface mode is really nice, with a multi res voxel sculpting it would beat zbrush and mudbox. This mode is really close to the "natural feel" sculpting of those apps)
  8. THAT, would be fantastic, especially in voxel mode since i feel often the need to go at a lower level to redefine the main shapes, which is hard with the current system since the higher the "tricount" is, the hardest it is to work with broad brushes. Andrew please, i'm asking you (its been the fourth time i think), can you correct the association of clay /surface clay in voxel room ? I can't assign a shortcut to clay, it always goes to surface clay, which is annoying since surface tools tend to make artefacts (and there is a little "pause, before the stroke is actually applied) Please, its slowing my workflow terribly, and i'm pretty sure its a quick one to fix.
  9. Install 3.03 i think the problem was solved, otherwise install an old alpha and copy the file to the new.
  10. Say it on the bug report sticky, i feel like a strange retard, alone
  11. Andrew, I have a question, i launched the last release, i got awful slowdown using brushes, i restarted it: same. I started rc87 to ensure it was not my driver (i got a bsod on first launch of the last release): no slowdown. I restart the last release: better Is there a reason ? Cause I can already imagine an user having this kind of performance putting 3dc to the bin :/ Its not the first time that happen, i made a comment simiar to this one when rc87 got released, its weird. General performance dropped, i get 37 fps in rc87 4 in the last release :x > seems to be dropping without doing nothing, i start with 26 fps then 14 then 11 etc Without touching anything. Configuration 3dc dx 64 cuda proc:Q6600 cg: 8800 gts ram: 4gb. System: win 7 (rc) x64. The ogl version is ok in perf except for the surface tools who are laggy as hell, i can't move the brush on the mesh. Anyway good call on the artefacts, i almost don't have any (first thing that bothered me in 3dc), i still have some using rapidscupt brush though, but its a lot more predictable during scupt -soft stroke doesn't work on voxel mode, it seems to be speed dependant. -
  12. Honestly, i'm willing to preorder the app if it helps your financial position at pilgways, but don't put this on release, you're shooting your feets off. Wait till you at least have the core bugs gone, I mean those artefacts problems, the brush engine lacking some feeling. I'm ok with the little comfort bugs, it can be fixed later, but the general feeling of the software is not there, its too soon.
  13. Ok, the new 3.0 is much better, by the way andrew, i don't know what you did to the surface clay tool, maybe nothing, maybe its just luck but i have almost no artefact whatsoever, if you happen to do the same to rapid brush i would be happy. And I have to agree with erklaerbar, first contact is what makes your software popular or not. I'm sure you can bugfix quickly after release but I don't think it will give a good image to pilgways and right know i feel like 3dcoat need a bit of extra love to be an enjoyable freeform sculpting app.
  14. I'll be called rude, i really see potential in this app, but right now if this is considered "pre-finale" i'm worried. Its slower than r87, I get artefact only by moving parts of the scupt (???), its absolutely not behaving like an almost finished product to be honest..
  15. I can't use cuda x64 dx version, only cuda oglx64 works, 3dc says the file cutil64.dll is misssing. But i've driver + toolkit installed, and it worked perfectly in rc87. Clay shortcut association is still broken (
  16. V87 -ctrl+z in voxel mode: bring voxtree even if hidden -hotkey association to clay tools is done to surface clay tools
  17. Oh cool, thanks Jokermax, i was trying to do it with spacebar menu. (i can't associate clay, it always select the clay surface tool nto voxel clay. Am i the only one who got awfuly slow strokes with surface tools in rc87 ? < restarted computer, seems ok now.
  18. I don't know if anyone asked, is it possible to assign shortcuts to brushes ? I can't do it and it would help me a lot.
  19. I like it, this is better to have both possibility, i enjoy multi-solution applications
  20. Yeah, but what about multiscreen users ? If you can't detach those 'dropdown menus' its a waste of workspace, and furthermore: i would totally hate to click on a drop down, see my color palette, then select my color, when i can do it with one click in docked/float mode, samething for layer, if you tend to work with lots of it it makes the task tedious... If this is used as in photoshop (you can dock AND stack in the bar) its ok though. Oh, while i'm here (sorry to ask so much, but i know you can handle it): is it possible to get an 'xpert mode toggle': press a shortcut and every panel, menus etc disappear letting you use the app in its full-screen glory ?
  21. For the slider thing, i don't know about you, but the way zbrush handle it in his trays is nice, there is no need to actually point on an ui item to scroll, its quicker. And i agree about the size of handle bar in panels, I find it difficult to enlarge a portion of docked palet, i often click and detach the thing :/
