  1. Hi Chris,

  2. since the new update i have some very weird issues.

first i draw simple curves with the curve tool.

    post-1875-1252609867_thumb.jpg

then i switch to muscle tool and draw in some muscles.

    post-1875-1252610015_thumb.jpg

    so far so good.

i switch back to curves and choose spline/rectangle for my curve.

    post-1875-1252610486_thumb.jpg

again i switch to muscle tool, draw a muslce and that's my result.

    post-1875-1252610608_thumb.jpg

the muscles don't work anymore. they are bulbs or somtehing and the have the shape of the last selected spline/obj.

this is very frustrating. i'm on vista x64 and i've tried it with cuda and without, dx or open gl. everytime the same result.

am i the only one with this prob?

    help please!

yeah, this is definitely a bug, but easy to fix...go back to curves -> press "Tube" -> back to muscles -> all fine

BTW: I love the new curve functions!

but there should be a function "delete all curves" ...selecting them one by one and hit delete curves is stressing my nerves...

at least for now... File -> New should give a fresh initialized 3DC to us. Actually previously created curves are still present...

  3. Agreed. I have the same card and I can get up to 25 million triangles before it starts choking.

Mmmh, 25 Million Triangles...I have the same Card plus a Core2Quad and 8 Gig of Ram but come on with 25 Million Triangles this becomes quite slow. Okay you can inc res to that polycount, but it's not really usable. For me a max. count of around 14 Million triangles will work... not with big brushes, but that's fine.

We need predefined test conditions like a benchmark to compare our systems -> Polycount / Brush / Brushsize / Zoomfactor / GL or DX version / speed of Brushstroke -> Framerate

    Otherwise it's all guessing...

  4. I always like to see little toons like these. They are a nice break from all the 'serious' stuff. The heads are nice too though. More plz. =]

Thanks! Same for me...I like to built some sweet between those monsters around... :D

I have a view friends of it in mind...will do my best to get them out... ;)

  5. And every thread that promotes 3DC's competitors should be deleted promptly. I'm utterly shocked at how disrespectful some of the folks here can be. We are not talking about a perceived Evil corporation like Autodesk....we're talking about Andrew, who works his fingers to the bone to reply to our requests...and you want to callously slap him in the face by undermining his sales with ZBrush lovefests, right here...right in front of his face? It's downright disgusting, quite frankly.

Yeah, and let's go over to Pixologic and Autodesk and all other 3D App developers and kill them all! Ban all users in this forum who are talking about other apps! Delete every single thread that "promotes" 3DC competitors...That means...this forum will be mostly empty and you will be alone...what will you do then? Talking with yourself? That's what you will do in the future if you're going on with this kind of speech.

A last comment, you seriously should think about...The only reason the threads talking about other apps are hot for such a long time, are your comments and the following discussion. So may be you are the biggest ZB promoter over here...

Some of the Admins should stop YOU!

For me this was my last answer of one of your posts...don't waste my time any longer...

    Don't hate...go create...!

  6. So...just where do you find (instructional) videos here with background music, heavy laden with marketing hype? If you're tired of hearing it, it's because you're such a ZBrush fanboy you can't stand any criticism of it. Maybe I'm tired of you coming here to promote ZBrush when this is not a ZBrush forum...or haven't you noticed? It's insulting to Andrew for you and others here to promote one of his rivals the way you have and do.

If you have read my post carefully, I did post suggestions to make 3DC a better app. That's the only reason I post ZB stuff here! To learn from the best and make 3DC better. So what I'm asking you is what is your intension here? Fight against others? Flaming users with your cheesy fanboy phrases? Man, I owning two licences of 3DC, Win and Linux, that means I SUPPORT this App as much as I can and I spend much time in thinking how this app can get much better. Your aggressive posts will stop any serious discussion about existing features in other apps and the possibility of implementing them in 3DC. If you read carefully, this is not my point of view only.

    Regards, Rene

  7. For me the most noticeable thing is consistency in those "nice feeling" apps. I mean consistency over all! Let's take Apple for example...in their whole range of products (website included) there is a unique glassy style. Whatever kind of application you get...you're feeling home.

Now take a look at 3DC...the most eye catching thing is this cool green Logo. In this forum I'm feeling home because of the green and grey color theme. Where are these colors in the app itself? Nowhere! This in my oppinion is a simple example of what we (and Andrew) have to do to improve 3DC look and feel BEFORE we start making nice Promo Vids. Creating a unique style telling everyone "this is 3DC".

    @AbnRanger

I'm a little bit tired of your ongoing cheesy ZB marketing flaming thing... I mean are you serious? The only thing they've done is posting some vids in their forum! No big badaboum! They can post as much as they want in their forum, they can make hours of vids of every single feature they've implemented, so we do in this forum! As I said many times before...please stop this! Be fair! :thank_you:

  8. i only agree partially, in future you will have to have BOTH ZB and 3DC. Where do you see Voxels in mudbox/ZB? Its the only point that made me even try 3DC. And together with the price thats absolutely unique, you noticed that Zbrush is trying to play copycat with metaballs (shrug)? It would be fatal to market 3DC just as a metoo product. Focus should be uniqueness, and thats Voxels (for that price at least).

Right...same for me...it is a great benefit to have both applications. I've done a test yesterday evening roughing out a mesh with ZSpheres and bring it over to 3DC for Voxel Sculpting. Works perfect for me. Adding additional detail is much easier in 3DC. Next I will test to bring back the lowres mesh to ZBrush and project the higher detail sculpted in 3DC on it.

As erklaerbaer said focus the uniquenes sounds better than get in direct competition with the big players...

  9. I would be very carefully with this information. Currently I can't imagine muscles and skeletons in a animation or moving context. I think Andrew just means to paint on a model that "looks like a bone skeleton" of a figure, and not more. No moving. No creating kinematic bones.

    Best wishes

    Chris

I didn't expect that really...but the new tools are great without moving! I think implementation of kinda Inverse Kinematic driven Bone-System to deform existing geometry would require rewriting of 3DC's core...??? But for me it's imaginable to implement a bone system to generate base geometry... an improvement of curve tool could do the job. I will post a feature request... :yahoo:

  10. Andrew,

Just tried the muscle tool and it should be quite handy... 1 thing you might consider is adjusting the

'Fill' tool so that it more quickly fills. Even at 100% it's 'strength' to filling seems tedious...or allow us

to 'overdrive' the amount above 100% so we can rapidly fill our muscles! :D

Please do...and maybe "Stick to Surface" (or Normals) is more appropriate?

    Another great update! :)

you can push the strength of the fill tool to very big amounts...I mean there is no limit...
