  1. It freezes when I release the mouse. I know it is about to happen as the interface does not update as I am dragging so the menu items on the right of my screen don't resize during the drag but go off-screen. I am trying to add a screen shot of my layout as it stands at the moment. Cheers Mike R
  2. Ummm. Any response on this issue? Is Andrew looking at it? What about the captcha problem in the bug reporter? Currently we are having to leave 3d coat out of our pipeline and use the obvious alternatives which is no good as I was just starting to get into why i preferred 3dCoat for most of my work. I always send any crash reports direct to apple although with this issue I have not had that option as when the os freezes the only option is to shut down the computer by pressing the power button.(Like the other poster, the mouse moves but nothing else works.)   3. Same issue here in firefox, safari and opera. Safari goes a bit further and shows a ? graphic. Mike R

  5. Snow leopard, 10.6.6, 4gb ram. 2.8ghz xtreme core 2 duo chip, ATI-Radeon HD2600. Although no kernel panic this time it did freeze the entire machine up again and after 15 minutes of nothing happening I switched off the machine. I hate doing that. In the past I have noticed that from time to time it would hang the machine but after a while come back or at least allow me to kill 3dcoat. This time it killed osX. So although i am not willing to give it a try again I do know that it has rarely allowed me to properly resize the window without glitching or freezing the machine. Mike
  6. I tried to resize the 3dcoat window by dragging from the bottom right of the 3d coat window and everything apart from my mouse froze. Nothing was responding then after about a minute the old kernel panic overlay stating I have to restart my computer came up. This is the latest mac version. Mike R
  7. I cleared the options.xml files and no difference. Only thing that did happen is when I tried to resize the 3dcoat window it crashed my whole computer with a kernel panic. (Tried again and the machine froze again trying to resize the window.) Mike R
  8. I tried that but all I get is a tiny window in the center of the screen with the word Canc in it. I click it and it disappears. Must be a mac version issue. Thanks for trying though. Cheers Mike R
  9. I actually thought that would be perfect as well. Create topology where you know you can do better then autopo finish it off. However I would say this would be good in addition to the current way of doing it. No idea if its possible of course. Cheers Mike R
  10. That clip you just showed made me smile. My kind of thing. Hopefully I will be able to show some of the characters from the next ios game I am developing very soon. By the way hopefully my messages are making sense as I am giving my wife a rest from my three month old son who is full of the cold and coughing like a good un. Normally I would be in bed at 2:40am.   12. I was trying that with the add existing folder and nothing happens. No new folder listed or any new textures. I guess its a bug in the latest version of 3dcoat on mac. Oh and sorry for not noticing the reply before now. Cheers Mike R
  13. Greg, I actually own Groboto as well and have been playing around with the 3 beta (Not checked for confirmation of any release for mac yet this month.) I have a number of apps but stick to one or two and never get round to learning the others. For example up to now I have used Zbrush almost exclusively for sculpting and Modo for general modeling. However I own Lightwave, 3dcoat, Groboto, Curvy 3d and Carrara etc and never get round to using them or learning them. Recently though I have found 3dcoat suits me better and all of the graphics for my next ios game are created in 3dCoat. It helps me create quicker and experiment more and that's why I am spending more and more time here trying to learn the ins and outs of it. Cheers Mike
  14. On hard surface models I find autopo to be completely unusable. Never yet had anything usable that way. Any tips on hard surface autopo? Oh and the spiral loops I have seen many a time. Would love to know what causes that. Cheers Mike R

  16. Hi, I noticed there was a bunch of textures in the extras directory in 3d coat and tried to import them into the material tab but they don't show up. Nothing happens at all. (This is on the latest beta for mac.) Also is there somewhere I can just import plain textures into 3dcoat to paint with? So far I have found no way to do that. I am not that bothered about doing depth and colour etc all in one pass so i am confused as to how to do it. A bit frustrating when I have thousands of textures I have purchased over the years but cant find a way to get them into 3d coat to actually use. Would be nice if I could just import an entire folder of textures to work with. I am sure it is something I am not understanding but I really would like to try out the texture painting side of things in 3d coat now as more and more I am finding it much more usable in my own work flow.   17. Now that last video really helped. Finally very clean topology. Only thing is I cannot get it to merge with NM as it just hangs. I left it for 15 minutes and gave up. Maybe a mac issue introduced with the latest version ? Mike

  19. Your probably right about it being low res. Just wasn't like that before even with a low res model. Its not an issue as I am not into using the renderer in 3dcoat. Cheers Mike R
  20. Not that I am aware of. Its not quite faceting more little black shadows that show up on shaders that used to be smooth. Cheers Mike R
  21. The only things I am noticing are it is MUCH faster now but there is lots of faceting that was not there before. Not really an issue unless you are rendering within 3d coat itself I guess. Mike

  23. Andrw, Thanks for the update. Models that would hang autoretopo now work. One thing though, I understand this is a beta version but it really needs a progress bar. I initially thought it was hung as before. All I got was a spinning beach ball as before with no sign I had even pressed the next button at all. (This is the button you press after you lay down strokes if you wanted to.) Other than that I am happy I can finally get on and test further. Cheers Mike R
