  1. Many thanks for the reply.

    2-6 are known from me.

The interessting is point 1 for me.

As far as i see, i have two options.

    1. Sculpt directly from the body with the Absolute Tool and others.

    or

    2. Use the VoxLayer Tool to create a new Object and redefine that one.

    Are there more options?

What Tools should i prefer to sculp?

Is it possible to use the Absolute Tool through the complede modell and not only in the front?

Any other hints and tipps for me?

  2. Hello

I have a little question about sculpting armors, Future armors like in Crysis or Mass Effekt and old stuff like knights.

For the games i have created armors, i created it Poly by Poly or out of a Box based on the game charakter.

And then i have sculped the little details.

But now with 3d coat, i think it would be recommned to do it compledly here.

Could you give some advice about the technics and tools that i should prefer to use or some other tipps, tutorials for sculpting armors?

Or should i stay on PbP or Boxmodelling?

    Regards

  3. Little Test from me.

    A Simple Barrikade

    6hiojmoo3yhi.jpg

Complede Workflow, if somebody is interrestet.

As far as i see, 3D Coat is realy nice.

It works very good, only the Retopo for Hardsurface is a little bit ugly on that barrikade.

Maybe my technics are to low or 3D Coat is the wrong choice for that job.

  4. Theres a little translation misstake.

I dont use "Normal map" blending for painting, the first bendingtype in the list is called Normal in german.

Normal should be the -> Standard is the full opacity layer.

But if i use that standard, the textures that i want to paint looks very bright, nearly white in the scene.

  5. Hello

I get some little problems with the export of texturemaps.

    This is my head.

    post-24378-0-51141800-1360783979_thumb.j

The lowpoly export of the textures brings up this one.

    post-24378-0-39484800-1360784017_thumb.j

The dark upper part is the skin, the lower ones are the horns and eyes.

Why is there such a difference? Did i something wrong?

I have an ambientlight of 50 and the primary light is 100. The rest is default as far as i know.

Most of my textureslayers use multiply and not normal. If i use normal as blending type, everything looks to bright.

    Any help?

    Regards Malo

  6. Hello

In a few days, i am running out of time of my V3 demo.

As far as i know i could use V4 free for another 30 days, not sure if this is actuell.

But when these days over, too. What is the best way to buy the full version of 3D Coat?

As far as see, i cant use the january sale.

Should i buy V3 for 350$ and then pay another 60$ for V4 like V2 to V3, or could i buy directly V4 for x$ (dont know the price)

Or should i buy the edu version of V3 and upgrade that to a full V4 Version?

Or is the january sale still aktuell and i get the V4 Verion for free?

    Any help would be nice.

    Regards

  8. Many thanks for the help.

After i fix the issues on some faces and create new uvs, i sent it to the paint room and yes, all textures are there.

The only thing that i see is, some paintlayers are merged. But overall it works realy nice.

With the texturebaking i have no successes on an other objekt.

Is it possible that it wont works on PTex?

  9. Hello

I asked this question in the german sektion, but it seems nobody could helps me, so i start a new attempt here.

I have created a pillar with one of the tutorials here. It looks like this.

    1-3dcHilfe1a.jpg

After i was done with retopo and painting, i switched to the render tab and i was trying to make some nice pictures.

In this tab, i must see, there are some quads ugly and it would be better to fix that areas.

    1-3dcHilfe1b.jpg

Is it possible to recreate the UVs, create new unwrap and copy the old textures with old UVs to the new one in 3d Coat?

Would be nice if somebody could helps me.

    Regards

    Malo

  11. Hi at all.

I am from Germany and Modelling and Sculpting is one of my hobbys. I start modelling in 2008 with creating models for other games linke Unreal Tournament, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and some other games.

Now i want to sculp and texture my modell in 3d, and after a long journey over Mudbox, Sculptris, ZBrush and Blender Sculpting, i found 3D Coat, and maybe this is the programm for me and my hobby.

    We read us.

I should use the short time of my Demo.

    Regards

    Malo
