  1. I understand what you're talking about. Maybe Andrew could see your suggestions. Maybe, if you could email him ... I know you would not want to hear something like that, but at the moment, you could not create shortcuts for your main brushes and access them that way? Would not that be a small solution? I use shortcuts for my top brushes and that way I work fast. I also put in the quick access (space bar) brushes that I do not use so often... not to get them looking at the menu with so many brushes. I think doing these 2 things can be a momentary solution until Andrew can see what he can do about these things. Some time ago, on this same topic, I had suggested some customizations. 1- User's custom menu: In it we could put all the tools and functionalities that we wanted that exists in 3D-Coat. And as soon as a tool is inserted in this customized user menu, it would automatically create a corresponding graphic button with its function and the name of the tool next to it (with the user's option to take the tool name if it wishes). This menu would accept access by shortcut key. 2- 3D-Coat could accept that we could drag tools and features to any part of the 3D-Coat screen. Where the user could customize what tools and features he could access quickly on the 3D-Coat's own screen. There are more suggestions I could say about it, but I will limit myself to those 2 that I believe would be the main ones, as it would facilitate and increase the speed of our work within 3D-Coat. I know Andrew is doing very important things at the moment for us! Of which we have waited many years to have. I'm just posting here these suggestions that, in my opinion, would make our work so much better and besides, 3D-Coat would be much more powerful!
  2. Sure enough, we have to leave Andrew with full priority for Sculpt Layers and the other features! Many years waiting for these great features! Lots of air for Andrew !!! My God! And I suggesting several things! But it's only good intention! Just to register this little suggestion to make us daydreaming! I could not resist suggesting the Rigging / Skinning system! Who knows someday Andrew will have a loving look at that suggestion!
  3. You're correct, you still have this technique as you described that is excellent and even more in conjunction with the use of instances. Powerful tool! Zb does not have this kind of method yet, but soon, we will see these features in a future version of ZB. Even with this method you described, which I also like, unfortunately, has its positive and negative side. Honestly, filling in the gaps left by the rotation for me is not a big problem. The problem is that not everyone will start a project with the "middle man". I think we would have a lot more advantages if we had a rigging system as I described in my suggestion as it is more versatile and flexible for whatever type of project you are developing (creating the mesh from the beginning in Voxel / Surface mode or a ready-made base mesh with the characteristics of your project) and you would have a much more refined control with this rigging / skinning system. Maybe if this Rigging system could somehow use instances (as you said above) it would be very powerful! Just imagine what we could do with such a system!
  4. Hey everyone! I was posing my character and for this I used the proxy in an average resolution of polygons so that I could use the pose tool to perform the pose of my character. Of course, we got to pose the character that way I just talked, but it's very laborious. We have to be selecting (sometimes perfecting the line selection and painting the area), setting the pivot of rotation or translation in the correct position to then perform the rotation or translation. Then, go to another part of the character to perform all this operation again. If you need to further change the pose, redo the selection or load the selection you saved at that time (if you remembered to save this selection you were using) ... I even tired of saying all this! What I would suggest, would be something that would make our life much easier! I would suggest a system of bones (rigging). Something similar to what happens in Blender being that inside the 3d-coat. Where we would have the possibility to create the bones or have different structures of pre-made skeletons (humanoid, animals and etc) to insert in our characters or objects and then automatically generate the skinning in the character, with the possibility of perfecting the weight manually painting. If Andrew and developers of 3D-Coat could not develop something I mentioned above, I thought of another alternative as a tool similar to the Curves tool, and this tool aimed at rigging and skinning, where we could put curves inside a character or objects and configure the weight in some way (painting and / or automatic mode) so that we can pose characters or other objects quickly and effectively inside the 3d-Coat. I think it would be an interesting and necessary tool for those who create characters, animals, robots and etc ... It would help a lot in 3D printing, presentation of projects and etc.
  5. At the moment, I'm a bit limited with my system resources ... So that I have the chance to work with my character, I will try to do this technique. Many thanks for suggesting one more tip to solve my problem. If Andrew could, in the future, make a Copy tool (which has in voxel) of transferring details and shapes (from one mesh to another) to Surface Mode would be of great help to us! Unfortunately, currently, we do not have such a tool on surface mode ...
  6. I think this "Snapshot Tool" could help us a lot in our projects. The most interesting would be if it could work in conjunction with Sculpt Layers. Another positive thing about this tool is that it would also be a kind of non-destructive tool. What do you think about this new tool I suggested? Could it be part of your workflow? And ... would you have suggestions for this tool? Any ideas to further improve this possible tool? Thanks for the interest and to help improve a possible idea that would help us a lot.
  7. I do not quite understand what you mean... But my character at the moment is one piece and I'm working on surface mode. I believe that when I used the Surface Hide tool to be able to hide body parts of my character and I could focus my work just on the arm ... I do not know what happened after having used the Pose and Move tools to do changes in the position of the arm, and when I finished the changes, I did a Unhide All ... So I noticed that the parts that were hidden were affected in some way and ended up being deformed causing a mess in the mesh. *** I made the changes in Proxy mode and then returned with the original mesh. I tried to do undo, but the most I managed was to return to proxy mode and ran out of my undos. Honestly, I do not know if I did anything wrong or if there was a possible error in 3D-Coat at that time. Because I've always worked hiding parts of the surfaces and nothing like that has ever happened to me before. I thank you for your time trying to help me!
  8. Hi Gary Dave, I do not know if you understood what I meant earlier or if I could not be very exact in my explanation. I apologize if I have not been able to explain it right! You're right, I would have no problem converting my character that is on the surface mode to Voxel mode. Of course, the configuration of my computer is old and to do this would take a while. I gave the arm example for people to understand. But, I would have to convert the entire character to perform the Boolean operation in Voxel mode or use the Copy tool (also in voxels mode). The problem of converting to voxels is the way I sculpt the character, parts of the body are very close to each other and when converting to voxels these surfaces merge with each other. For example, the pose of the fingers and toes as they are very close together will eventually fuse with each other. Just as in the eyelids of the eyes that are almost closed they also fuse. That kind of behavior I did not want to happen. So if I convert to voxels, unfortunately I will have problems. So I would like and suggest that if we had tools that would perform operations like the Copy tool (Voxels mode) within the Surface Mode so that we could perform the transfer of details or shapes of parts from one mesh to another ... I I believe it would be of great importance and help for our work! That would be great, would not it? What do you think? Thanks for your comment.
  9. @gbball ... You need luck and a little patience to run a more complex Boolean operation in surface mode. Usually, you get it! I believe the algorism used for Boolean operations on voxels mode is much more effective by nature to add or remove volumetric pixel (extremely powerful). Already on surface mode is another story! I've been trying to help in some way by suggesting ideas about Sculpt Layers, even I made a video about it at the other topic I created. Of course, sculpt layers will be one of the best things ever done in 3d-coat among many that have already been created ... a true paradise for all of us! I think we could have a new tool also related to transfering details from one mesh to another in surface mode. Since you have a lot of details sculpted on the surface mode, you will not want to switch to voxels mode because you may lose details and depending on how your sculpture you will end up merging one surface with the other (example are the fingers of the hands or feet if they are too close together will merge). With this, a transfer detail tool between one mesh to another in Surface mode would be ideal. Something similar to Project All that exists in Zbrush or something similar or better than the Copy tool that exists in Voxels mode of 3D-Coat with more options (controls) to us... Would not that be great?
  10. This might work fine ... great tip! Thank you!!!! In one of the tests I did earlier it worked ... I cut, for example, the arm and inserted it into the good mesh. The only thing that can happen with this type of method is that in Surface mode the Boolean operations are sensitive ... ie depending on the shape you mix, a window appears and 3D-Coat warns that you can not perform the operation for certain reasons. But depending on the way you position a mesh in the other mesh the operation is carried out successfully! Maybe we could have a new tool in 3D-Coat that makes it possible to transfer details in Surface Mode in a similar way or even better than we already have with the Voxels mode Copy tool! This would be a great tool for us in surface mode!
  11. Thank you very much for the tip! Yes, I was even thinking of using the Copy Tool in voxel mode. The only problem is that I'm on surface mode and I've already applied surface details that I do not want to miss. Converting to Voxels, I'll have to use millions of polygons to keep all the work I've done and I do not know if my computer will support (I'll still buy a new pc). I believe it will freeze the pc. Would you have another alternative in surface mode? If I have no other alternative, I'll do the Copy tool technique in voxels mode as you suggested!
  12. Thank you for your time trying to help me! Great tips you gave me, but that's not exactly what I need right now. I needed a 3D-Coat tool that was similar to a tool that exists in ZBrush for transferring details from one mesh to another as it is called Project All. Project All: The Project All operation will project sculptural detail from a source mesh to a target mesh. The meshes do not have to have similar topology but should be broadly similar in shape. Source and target meshes should be SubTools in the same list, and for best results should be the only two visible SubTools. The other settings in this section will affect the result of the projection. That said, I'm working on a sculpture in Surface mode, where I have many details and I would not want to lose the detailing and sculpting work I've done. So I would like to transfer the good parts of a mesh to another mesh that is in the correct mesh. I think I'm figuring out one way ... but if you or anyone else has an idea of performing that detail transfer from one mesh to another it would be great!
  13. That's all I'd like to hear! This is perfect! Tools that already exist in Paint Layers that could be added in the Sculpt room and that would be used in Sculpt Layers or not: 1- Erase Tool This tool would be extremely important in conjunction with Sculpt Layers. The user could partially or completely erase any change made to the surface of the mesh within the created Layer, with full control through the different Stroke Modes of the brush, using any alpha and defining the intensity of the erase. It is a most valuable destructive tool! Even though I knew I could use the masking system on the layer, but it could be used together! 2- Height Adjustment Tool (magnification and reduction) with Degree of Change. Very useful tool in total control of the intensity of details or part carved in the negative or positive way on the surface of the mesh. Where, through a brush, the user can, if desired, completely remove what has been done or further intensify a detail that already exists on the surface of the mesh (This is very very very important). The interesting thing is that this brush is sensitive to the alpha of the chosen brush and still appears to be a non-destructive system. Some tools related to the copying or cloning of the mesh surface: 1- Clone Tool: Types = Translation, Mirroring, Inversion, Clone Sector, Symmetrical Copy, Copy using Brush. The Clone tool may seem like a simple tool or not have much importance in the work of some people when manipulating a texture. But, I think, this very powerful tool in whatever is the goal of an artist's work. The clone tool has several ways to perform clones, copies and provide unique effects from a detail already made on the surface of the mesh. The artist could perform the cloning / copying of a detail on the surface in a controlled manner, by using the type of cloning spoken above and with the alpha sensitivity of the brush. With this, the artist would have a great power in his hands, even in the generation of unimaginable effects. 2- Transform / Copy Tool: This tool is similar to the Clone Tool, but it is unique and sensational when it comes to how to apply a copy of a detail already existing elsewhere on the mesh surface. This tool will make the artist have the power to completely control the translation and scale (uniformly or not) of the surface copy made by different types of Stroke Mode Lasso, and thus adapting the copy to the different surface of the mesh. 3- Copy / Paste Tool: This copy tool is very powerful and effective. The artist can copy a detail of the mesh surface through the Brush. This brush would be sensitive to the alpha chosen by the user, the size of the copy would be related to the size of the brush and its intensity according to the depth of the brush. Like this, the tool would accept the options of the brush, like Rotation Amplitude, Radius Variation, Depth Variation, Jitter Position and etc. Spline Image Tool This tool could be very useful in Sculpt Room for the same purpose that this tool has in Paint Room. Users could define an image (texture) to be applied through the Spline (with preview). We would have the same tool options as Number of Tiles, Falloff, extrusion, ignore back faces, closed curve, depth moderator and so on. ----------------- New Tools: - Snapshot tool: This tool aims to create a snapshot of the visible surface of the mesh (regardless of the use of layers or not). This snapshot would be stored in the tool memory. This tool would be used through the brush and also by a slide that varies from 0 to 100% between the state of the capture surface and the surface altered after of the capture. It has the function of making the metamorphosis between the state of the captured surface and the mesh carved afterwards. The user could easily control any change in the surface of the mesh in a non-destructive way and could also help to correct a wrong posture in the pose of a character, for example between a stretched and folded arm. Thus, the user through the morpth slide could identify any type of problem related to the stretching or compression of the mesh. Another interesting thing that this tool would provide the user would be to place a certain state of the captured mesh within a new layer created in the Layers system, thus allowing greater freedom and creation control. When the user used the brush morpth it would be very similar to the mask system in Sculpt Layers.
  14. @Tony Nemo Many thanks for trying to help me .... Sadly, I do not have this option enabled for auto save ... I must have disabled for some reason in the past! I hope someone can help me on some transfer tool (in 3D-Coat) from one mesh to another .... Unfortunately, I do not have auto save.
  15. Hey everyone, I would like to know one very important thing if there is a feature that I am urgently needed in 3D-Coat. I'm making a character. I used the Decimate Proxy Method to be able to make changes in the pose of the character, especially in the arm. After the character was lighter, I hid the whole character except for the arm, in which I began to repair the arm (using Pose Tool, Move Brush). Finally, when I finished all my work, I pressed the button that serves to exit the proxy mode and return the character with the original amount of polygons and then I saved the file. When I realized and looked at the character, I do not know how this must have happened, but in several places of the character the mesh was distorted and displaced. These places should be protected because I had previously hidden these parts to be able to use the Pose Tool and Move Brush. I believe that somehow 3d-coat did not respect the hidden mesh and even then made a mess in those areas. At the same time, I tried to use CTRL + Z to undo all the changes to recover the character in the original state (before my work I did on the arm). But 3D-Coat just went back to the mesh proxy and stopped there (no longer allowing undo) while remaining the messy mesh of the character. In this project, I'm using Tortoise HG (I'm new to this program) to save all my modifications rather than saving multiple files as I was accustomed to doing. That means I have only one project file. Due to my desperation and the very late hour I thought of reverting the file to the previous state I had saved in Tortoise HG (which would be a file before the modifications in the arm), but I messed up and went back to a file very early , where I lost practically all the accessories and much more of this project. And to complete the tragedy, I could not undo this action in Tortoise. Luckily, I had exported the character in .3b (before the changes in the arm) and also I had exported the character with the changes in the arm in 3b. (but with the other parts of the body messed up). Having said all this, I wonder if there is a way to reproject the good parts I've made of the (messy) character to the character who has the correct mesh? I know that in 3D-Coat there is the Copy tool (voxels mode), but for me to do this procedure I will have to convert my character to Voxels and so I will lose many details that I already did in Surface mode. I know that to keep these details, I will have to increase millions of polygons and I think my computer will not support it. So, is there any way to transfer the work I did on the arm (bad file) to the correct mesh (good file)? Similar to the mesh reproject functionality that exists in ZBrush? thanks...
  16. I believe that Sculpt Layers that Andrew is developing, without any doubt, it will become one of the best Sculpt Layers. I'm amazed at all the functions that happen in Paint Layers, if Andrew transfers most of the features of Paint Layers to Sculpt Layers, of course, everything will change! A real paradise! Have you ever imagined having the eraser tool on Sculpt Layers? The same way it works in Paint Layers? I know it's a destructive process and you'd better use the masking system, but for many things it would be great to have the tool eraser.
  17. HUGEEEEE ..... How great to know that! Thanks so much for sharing Andrew's progress on Sculpt Layers! Congratulations to Andrew and the developers of 3D-Coat! From what you said, once again, 3D-Coat will be pioneering a giant functionality such as the use of dynamic tessellation inside a layer (live clay) and for sure is to stay insane you can use cuttoff tool! If you can actually use live clay on sculpt layers, can we use the Brush removal option as well? That would be perfect, would not it?
  18. Hey everyone ... I made another video in which I explain and suggest an improvement in the hierarchy system in Sculpt Layers. This time, I'll simulate and suggest that when we users move the folders / layers through the hierarchy, two important things would happen with visual cues. I would like to say that nothing I'm doing is an obligation or pressure to @Andrew Shpagin and developers of 3D-Coat! Just, I'm trying to help suggesting ideas.
  19. My tablet is wacom intuos 5 touch. It's giving me problems that are similar to your problems. Nowadays, I have to manually activate the wacom drive service, because if I do not do that, the tablet is not recognized on windows. I do not know if you saving the configuration (backup) of your shortcut keys will advance something to solve your problem. But at least you can read the backup file to get back the keys you set up! Theoretically, it should work that way! What annoys me is that these problems happen with a leading tablet in the market and still have a high value for sale. It was not to have practically any kind of problem in operation. I understand that you have spent a value that is not low and even more a modern tablet with 8k of pressure and you can not be satisfied because of the problems that it causes you. But a tablet with malfunctioning ends up not allowing you to do your job. You end up having losses! Not worth it! My tablet is already causing me a lot of problems and I have to pray that wacom support will launch a drive as soon as possible to fix these errors. Because I can not work anymore. I have researched that the tablets monitors of the brand Yiynova and Huion are very good. I'm thinking of buying one of the two. But I'm waiting a little longer, because they are always launching tablets monitors ever better and coming close to a great quality. I think in the future it will be worth having.
  20. @AbnRanger Thanks for answering me! I think you're totally right! I agree with you! It should be wacom drive problem (even though the latest drive is installed). I was sculpting and suddenly the radial menu started popping wildly without me doing anything. And also the menu that appears when we hit the right mouse button had the same behavior. I've been in Windows Services to disable the wacom drive service and everything went back to normal ... I'm already going through my last nerve! I had problems with wacom (drivers) before, but I had never had problems with the tablet. And that's because it's the famous wacom! What an irony !!! In the future, I want to see if I buy the tablet monitor from Yiynova or Huion ... The problem is the import value ... The value of the final product with all import taxes becomes three times the normal value bought in the United States .
  21. Please moderators ... how can I delete this thread that I created? I created this topic because the topic "3DCoat 4.8 BETA testing thread" had disappeared or had some kind of problem with the thread" .... that I was not able to find. Just now, I was able to find the missing thread and finally posted there. Sorry for the inconvenience ....
  22. Hey everyone, I still have problems with a possible bug in 3D-Coat 4.8.16. It's happening in the Tweeak Room and the Sculpt Room. All of my drives are up to date (video card and wacom tablet). The problem is that the mouse or tablet is shaking as if I were using the Jitter Position brush options. (even with the mouse stopped) And in the Sculpt Room, besides being shaking, the brush seems to be spinning and spinning at the same time. I made a quick video to show what is happening to me .... Is someone having the same problem? thank you very much!

  24. I confess that I have never used G + before ... I asked for permission to participate in the G + community ... and as soon as it is accepted, I will post the video there. I'll send the video to support too! Thank you very much
  25. I know it's annoying to ask this type of thing for everyone here in the community, but I'd like to ask everyone who liked or agrees with something I did in the video to Thumbs Up and comment on the video on youtube and share the video in all the places, so the video can come to the attention of Andrew. I would like to make it clear that I just made the video to help everyone in the community and I never exposed myself on youtube. I hope I have helped in some way and who knows from this video more suggestions can happen, further improving what I have already done. And so, helping Andrew somehow.
