Oh nice character!
I like your rendering on the "Akka Akka Gun" too.
Remembers me of Marmoset toolbag renders.
-
I like the way you gain time by using primitives (the trunk).
You talked about Sculptris; it is a cool soft too, but there is
much more useful primitives in 3d-coat (those you can tweak are very handy).
Michalis wrote about using pinch an negative grow. I think is an important point
if you want to avoid too soft surfaces. Simulating hard edges would give your sculpt
a more solid feel. Keeping rough parts done with "scrape" is also an option, but
all depend on what you want to do.
Can't wait to see your next sculpt.

Nice ring!
But I can see it in the back of character throat
40 minutes, that's quite fast. I wonder what will come next.

Didn't understand the joke
I'm completely losing my wits.
I have to sharpen my wit.
Wit on earth are you saying?
Hemm... Sorry. Too much work ---> Almost brain dead today = silly french jokes tsunami.
I would have liked to see El Greco's goblin paintings.
If you find one, please e-mail me at garagarape@live.jp

Michalis, thanks!
Yes, you are right about the arm twisting.
I've just tried the pose for real and what I sculpted is
impossible unless you brake your bones
It is 7578112 triangles so far.

Pedestal and sword added:

Great Franken!
I dig the second one.
Oh yes, Michalis idea is cool.
I may have a try too.
-
Nice cariathydes!
After your wonderful work on stone and marble,
I wonder what will come out of wood
Your work is very inspiring; I think I'm gonna
make a ship figurehead after the goblin.
-
DOF fun!

May be it is a little too early to say something about painting.
Personally I like slightly blue tinted shades; but may be black
is better for the topic you chose.
What's wrong with the coat? Is it the fiber feel?
-
This video, it's just crazy!
But Origami "no scissors required technique" is impressive too.
Cool Star wars scooter and flying drill device!
Is this second work a part of a robot?
It is quite similar to what Goldorak used for "underground" missions
-
Cool sculpt there!
I like the second creature gentle expression the most.
She looks wise.

Jake_H, couldn't see the pictures of your link (have to register)
but found others on the net. Thanks.
I'm ashamed. I was an Art history student and completely missed
this great artist.
Keep on the good work!

LJB > Thanks! Yes you are right. Dropped shoulder is better with a heavy weapon in
right hand. I really like Artman's morning star idea, but the goblin has a wrong
pose for this kind of weapon now; I keep his shield idea though
Tried a little sketch to imagine what it could be in the end.
Still no idea for the helmet style and other parts. Just a vague idea
of the whole move. Armour parts slightly floating in the air would
be cool (gauntlet), but hard to do...
Michalis > Calispera. Efkaristo!
Thank you for your kind words. It helps keeping motivation.
-
Nice sculpt! The pose is very natural.
Is it George Bridgman? I didn't know this artist.
-
Added BeatKitano's tendons and veins on the neck.
No big progress on other parts tonight.
I'll post next screen-shot when the body's done.
This is becoming a bit boring.
I thought about the pedestal: planing to use old dices
(those with more than 6 faces) around it.
-
Pose problem almost solved.
I didn't noticed the details became so blurry;
it may happened when using the pose tool or merging
parts with different density. Hope it wont happen
once more when adding weapons and clothes.
Tried to add of pain expression on his face.
He'll probably have an arrow or two in his back.
-
Wow cool!
The muddy-bloody chasuble is really well done.
You've got to finish the pedestal huh?
-
Artman > Thank you for the ideas and the small figurine pic.
Yeah, a Shield could be fine. But I wonder if it will fit with
your morning star idea (Wich is nice for dynamism with a chain floating in the air).
I have to think more about it. Anyway, it's good to hear you.
It helps thinking.
BeatKitano > No problem man. Go for it. I'm not the goblin ruler.
I'm kind of exited to see what you will do with the punk-rock goblin.
Thank you for the pose crits. Yeah, those "wrestler-punks" are very
inspiring. It's true that tendons and veins would add a lot.
I'll see if I can tweak the pose a little more.
-
Slow progress. The hands and feet are going to take more time
than the face (wich is still too rough).
Poor naked goblin. Wanna put some clothes on him quick.

#9 > Oh this Frankenstein really smiles!
Don't get mad at me... When I saw the pic I first thought it was Roger Daltrey...
Yeah, That's stupid I know.
Can' wait to see it painted.

Merci pour le mot en Francais.
Pas de probleme, je suis Breton
Your last zombie is the best.
I Like this creepy monk.
Will there be a Zombie-girl?

Hey man, Your temple is in 3dc official show-case!
Lucky you! But you deserve it.
-
Lets go for a "rock-band singer" posed fighter!
I had a lot of trouble with the symmetry mode (different results on both side...).
Though it is too early I'll work with symmetry off.

Great render. Isn't the upper lip,
a little too big? Or is it the shot angle?
