Cool models here! I had a good laugh with the one smoking a cigarette. Neat and funny.

Wow! So this is the textured version!
This is really good. I wonder how you got Toolbag 3, for it will be available tomorrow (Well, thought would be!)
-
Cool asset! Very natural. Do you have a wireframe shot of your pile model?
-
Welcome!
Man, your cat character may fall backwards seeing his legs position on the side view.
The front view with blue lines looks great. Can't wait to how you'll turn this design into 3D.

Pinky is very important for a Samurai.
You can't hold a saber properly if you don't have one.
Anyway, samurai disappeared long ago. So, no pinky is fine. + Stark trek salutations will be easier. -
Carlosan, Tony, thanks for the hints.
I forgot those features and got round with old methods...
I guess the spline tool use shown in the Smaug video would have been good.
Will try this on the next sculpt.

Hi Tony! I just did it the old way. A row of scales on a different layer, bended with pose tool, and duplicated many times.
The stencil was not good enough for this --> I don't mean the stencil tool is bad, it's just that fish scales have an orientation
that is hard to express only with a 2D Pattern.
I don't know what a freeze gradient is. I will check this at home tonight. Thanks for the hint!
Cheers!

Managed to add the fish scales somehow... Look a bit like silver coins, but better than her remaining nude as a worm.
Don't know if I'll put this further. I will probably chose the best angle of the mermaid and include her in a kind of matte painting thing.

A little more work on the mermaid sculpt.
I don't know what to use for the fish scales... The pose tool didn't make it, and I guess using a texture layer (the stamp thing) would look a bit fake...
Any idea?

Only a few tweaks on the mermaid tonight.

Thanks Tony! Long time not seen.
I missed an occasion to meet 3dCoat members for real
during my trip to USA. Anyway, one week in South Carolina
was not enough to explore other places. I hope that you, David
and all the veteran friends are doing good.
I'll try to be more active here. Time is like toothpaste, there's always
a few left if you make the effort to put it out (my former Chinese teacher formula, that is not totally true I guess)
Take care!

Cool stuff Carlosan!
So we lose one finger on the hand huh?
-
She's not pretty I guess. I'll try to fix that another day.
-
Thanks for the like!
I tried to refine the mermaid a bit:- 2

Too busy at work + a trip to South Carolina (Greenville) kept me away from 3dCoat...
I ran out of gas on the previous work. Lets start something new for a quick warming up.

I should enjoy more speed sculpt like you do. It is stupid, I always want to make a polygonal model after sculpting and it takes ages... Can't wait to see your next work.

Cool roller derby SheWawa ! Hope she wont cut her tongue when falling. You made me want to see Michelle Steilen videos again.

Started to refine the arms. Only 30 minutes today... I mostly use the move tool to tweak places lacking volumes guided by the highlights. Still very rough.
Fingers like sausages.

The guy with the beard is really cool! Look like the metal figure I used to collect in the eighties (D&D).
Nice work! -
Boots refined. Next step, refining the arms. Something went wrong with them. RaaaaH! It's a 3dCoat bug, noooo!
Listening to "Don't fear the ripper" right know. Which band was that?

Oh, I see! I haven't heard about Maxwell render so far (spend too much time in a cave)
Just checked their web-page. Thanks for the info!
-
The model and the render are great!
Was the rendering made in 3dCoat too? Now you have to make the whole Tattoo-shop
-
No great improve today, despite a lot of time spent on it.
Separate boots from the legs to make the work easier.
Too much time lost switching from a material to another...
Can't find the best compromise between a harsh lighting that
stress out the imperfections of the model, and something kind to the eyes.
Have to check more combinations of environment map lighting and materials.

Still a long way to go, but enough for today!

Thanks Javis! I've checked Marmoset Toolbag web page. It seems that they're gonna release 3.0 soon.
I've been very lazy for a while, unable to find the motivation after work (and a bit too much involved in rugby games);
but I'll try to do something with 3dCoat a little more.
By the way, is your new avatar done with Hexels2? I found it cool too!
