I know this is an old post and i am not sure if the problem is the same, but when i started Treegenerator with Administrator rights i could export the tree objects in the " c:\Program files(x86)\3D-Coat-2-trees\Models\trees\generate\obj " folder in Windows 8.1 64 bit.
