  1. Thank you guys for the answers! Yes, I think, I´ll go with Voxel-extrude and then sculpt a bit by hand, rest will be done by texture... (Anyways, the cloth-simulation-thing looks interesting) Cheers!
  2. hello, I am back with some new questions I´d really like to cover a scene in snow. Now,is there any tutorial for that (I did not found something useful yet) or do you guys have a good starting point, that will put me in the right direction? I was thinking to do kind of snow-simulations in other apps - but maybe I should just "handpaint" the snow. Do not get me wrong here - I do notmean textures, I mean real mesh/voxel snow onto objects... kind regards
  3. Hey Malo, ist ja klasse !! So - first I saw you did a looong stroke with the pose-tool, far over the geartooth (I did only small strokes, when trying...) Next, you took back a bit from the pose-tool-selection, so that the area was defined closer. (Did not know, that is possible , without leaving the tool) And finally, the curve yoou used was much more linear... All those things together will give a good result (wenn auch laggy) Using the cut off tool is king, I think. Damm, should have imagined this myself, hehehe @Carlosan Thanks for opening a request.. maybe I should register to mantis, too , hehehe Vielen Dank für´s video, top!!!
  4. Ahhhhh, well yes - I am kind of "bound" to the box-modelling (comming from MODO/Blender background) I am in the process of "thinking different" right now and thanks to you people here, I really learned something Will try it this evening for sure!
  5. I came across some other issues... not tested the "Nosiemaker-workflow" right now Will test asap and report back... Cheers
  6. Yes, that´s what I want to do... Now, 3DC pose-tool works not the way, I thought. When I draw a line just only on top of the small gear-tooth it makrs everyting thru, down to the ground as you can see on the images, I posted. Seems, there is no way to have just the top-face selected, hmmmm. I will try the cut-off - maybe that will work, because of the radial-symetry, we´ll see! Cheers!
  7. ahoi Malo, have tried to do it the way you described - it worked, but only kind of. I need to find a way to "Pull" just on the edge - but with pose-tool I can only mak a bigger range, the causes unwanted movements... guess, I have to rebuild it
  8. Wooohuuuuuuuuuuu that´s cool!!!! Can not wait to test it
  9. would be great if a user-made-mask cold be provided to "Fill with Freeze" function... Anyways, will test it
  11. Au, sorry about that Malo! I want to use a gear, which has no inner radius - it is closed Damm - still no working router?! OMG!!
  12. Can you tell, how that workflow looks like? I tried withpose-tool, but I do not use it right, I guess. For example there was no way (for me) to mask multiple geartooth at once and such... Do I have to retopo it first? I thought, in Voxel mode there are always volumes??? How to close objects to a volume?? - a bit confused right now, sorry
  13. Ok. So there is no easy way to do this operation on the already finished object? I will have to build it new, then... not a big problem. But would be cool to have some feature in 3DC to mutli-select faces, then transform them. Cheers!
  14. ...oh and how can I generate a mask from the surface of the object, for the noise generator?
  15. Ahhhh, surface mode, ok! Will give it a shot, then... Danke!
  16. Just a thought, because having some indicator would help new users, I think. Like having not to go thru the try and error process and wonder, why the alpha is not working Cheers!
  17. hello, in Zbrush, there is a tool for apply "noise pattern" to an object - do we have something similar in 3DC? See at 3:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47Ukn4zUSLA&index=2&list=PLUQP26mNfgEc70PDJSyRy1EWAQ5FssVZ2 regards
  18. hi, I got a little of a problem I made some gear-like oject in 3DC and now, I want some sides of the "thooth" to be modified - but on all 8 simultanious so that the object is the same on all sides. (Image "G1" = the object , "G2" = the desired result ) Is there a way to mask specific areas in voxel mode? (did not found out, how to paint a mask *sigh*) Should I create a kind of "cutter volume" and use that? What would you pro´s do instead? Cheers
  19. hello, I wonder, if there will be some indicator, if a brush/function works with an "Pen Alpha" or if alpha is not changeable. Am I missing something? I am just a beginer and do not know the brushes w/wo alpha-supprt right now. Would be a bit easier for a newcomer to see, if there would be some small indicator... Cheers!
  20. Hey Malo, nope, this time it was another problem - the object´s symetry was on Z, not on X... I guess, if you set wrong axis to symetry, retopo will not give any results at all... Anyways, now it works, thanks for explaining. Would be cool to have videos, that are made with an up-to-date version... Ok, so these options are not needed anymore. Then I guess I´ve done it right. Only thing is, that AUTOPO sometimes do not put an (straight) edge-loop right on an edge (even if I draw a guideline near an edge). Maybe that´s because I had to give more resolution in voxel-room, to get "sharper" edges?! (I mean, the edge-loop does not stay on the edge, but fades away "left or right" but is not straight vertical...) Cheers
  21. hmmm, nobody else got this issue?!
  22. hello, in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trTqnA2M9iE there are some settings about symetry, when starting the AUTOPO routine... (also see image) Now in 4.5 beta, this options seem to be gone (there is only a hint, to turn on symetry, if the object is close to be symetrical...) But when I set symetry to "x-axis" (on which the object is symetrical, indeed), I get no retopo-results! There is some message-popup flashing, but it is gone too quick for me to read... There is something about setting "radial symetry", when using AUTOPO routine... but I do not understand what to preset here... I tested a few options, but got a really weird mesh as result (one side seems to be fine, pother side just total chaos) Basically I want to help the routine get better results by telling it, that I got a symetical mesh to re-topo. How does this work correct? Cheers!
  23. Oh ha, was ein Mist...
