  1. Hey Carlosan, I think deleting the options****xml fixed it. I tried some shenanigans in the scupt room and everything was stable. Thanks a lot!
  2. On .20 I didnt even got to the point where I could save/export sth. It crashed right after the selection for a new document. I have updated to .23 now. Seems more stable. UV and paint room for example work just fine. When I selected the sculpt room in .23 I got a crash again. Log.txt
  3. Hey there! I wanted to teach 3Dcoat to a colleague and 3DCoat just crashed over and over again. Not a good start :S. So I just wanted to start a new project. Doesnt matter what: Voxel Scuilpting/UV Map Mesh/paint UV Mapped Mesh .. after selecting what to do 3DCoat crashes or shortly after. I attached the log file. Best regards, Nick Log.txt
  4. Thanks a lot Sergyi, deleting the quarantine attribute for the installation solved it! $ xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/3D-CoatV4-7/*
  5. Still have the same issue :S On another Mac Sierra (old Macbook Pro) both installations are working but not on mine :S. My Mac got a new installation so everything should be fine.
  6. Hello everyone, my mac got an OS upgrade and since then 3DCoat is not working anymore. I cannot start it. Tried to reinstall and also tested older Versions with the same effect. After klicking the window vanishes immediately and 3DCoat does not start. Any ideas? Help would be great, im kinda stuck with work here macOS Sierra 10.12.6 3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5 16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB
  7. I just wanted to add, that I have the same issue on mac. I got crashes on downloaded SmartMaterial packages. One of them is the same that Yarogor tries to use. I am very interested in a solution as well! I was looking for some smart materials because there is no real library for different material types? (like substance source/share) Of course I could download and rebuild them in 3DCoat, but I was hoping for a solution that doesnt take weeks ^^.
  8. It was indeed the UV map :S It works with Auto Map. I still dont know was really causes that problem but at least I can start texturing again. Thanks Javis! Thanks a lot Carlosan ;-)
  9. With your Model in 3DCoat I get a clean Curvature Map. Did you import my fbx File?
  10. Ok, then I have no clue why it is working for you and not for me :S
  11. And after a closer look I think your map was flawed on some edges as well:
  12. So i tried the same with the Beta Version for Mac (4.7.11) and I still have this Problem 4k Map resolution.
  13. Ok, my map just looked good on first sight. I still got problems there. Guess I have to try the Beta Version.
  14. I think the reason our Models look different is the import angle for smoothing groups. Cinema4D uses a phong Tag and the only way to detect edges on Import is the "Auto Smoothing Groups" option. Your Map looked more detailed, so I decided to create a much larger Texture Map. At 8k my result was the same as yours. Do you downsize the textures in 3D Coat? Working with smaller maps is much faster. Too bad the generated maps are not as clean :S
  15. So I just did a "Auto Seams" and hit "Unwrap" In Paint Mode I applied a material and the flawed Curvature Map was generated. Where is my mistake? :S I am sooo looking forward to have a Curvature Map like yours flawed_curvature_01.3b
  16. Sorry, i forgot to say that I created the UVs after import inside of 3DCoat! But it seems im doing sth wrong there, because your curvature looks flawless. I will upload my unwrapped 3dcoat model tomorrow.
  17. Hey Carlosan :-) I am using the 4.7.06 version. Stromkasten04.fbx Stromkasten03.obj
  18. Hi Guys, I'm having an issue with the generated curvature Map thats needed for materials to work properly. As you can see in the picture some edges do not receive any curvature values and the applied Material then fails to apply edge wear. I tried obj and fbx Import from Cinema 4D with Auto Smoothing Groups on the import options checked. Any ideas?
  19. Well, the reason for starting from the retopo room is, that you need it for the Baking/Texturing anyway. It is also possible to jump to sculpting right away and then load your low poly model into the retopo room or do a new retopo. "Do I need to retopo?" > That is up to what you need :-) If you have no model you would be starting in the Sculpting room 3D Coat is very complex despite it being so new. Having so many efficient workspaces in one program is rare. Thats why this complexity is so overwhelming at first.
  20. I've been through similar situations. Problem is, that the program has been updated over and over again and the Introduction Videos are outdated. Well, here is your cheat sheet: (at least how I would do it, i am new as well but have been working in 3D for several years..) 1) Import Low poly into the Retopo room 2) Do your Retopo/UV unwrap there if needed 3) Go to the sculpt room > Geometry > Retopo mesh to Sculpt Mesh 4) Now you can subdivide and or switch to voxel mode 5) Sculpt :-) 6) When finished sculpting adjust low poly mesh in Retopo room if needed 7) In The retopo room go to Bake and bake your high poly details onto your low poly mesh 8 ) Go to the paint room to paint the model 9) Enjoy
  21. Now i tried the OBJ Exporter riptide, a special OBJ PlugIn for Cinema4D, but the problem remains. I am starting to think that this is a 3D Coat problem :S. I feels sad, because I cannot do, what I bought this program for. I wanna get started sooooo badly and I really like 3D Coat :(.
  22. Could you show another picture at a different angle and after pressing "W"? To show the polys. 1) In sculpting one of the biggest newbie mistakes is to get the resolution high too fast. The more geometry/polygons/voxels the harder to make big changes. 2) An idea would be to work with the freezing option to freeze one part and then strongly smooth another 3) you could also change the light/shadow to be more intense. helps while modeling because you can see your own changes better.
