  1. answer to my own question - The new 16-bit displacement export works very nicely n Modo...
  2. Wow. you are fast . i tested all 3 new features (LWO import, 16-bit export, and radius adjustment for spline points). Everything is working good over here. Only problem is now the Pan navigation (Alt+MMB) is not working shorty
  3. thanks! I also have some more wishes that might be not so easy to set up : 4) project curves onto mesh along X, Y, Z, or along axis of current view. 5) pull curve to mesh along the normal vectors 6) snapping to vertex, mid-edge, and face center of the smoothed low-poly mesh. Meaning it will snap to the position of smoothed mesh, but only snapping points to those corresponding to low-poly mesh. Otherwise would go crazy if trying to snap to the high-poly mesh 7) import curves from other file formats (3DM, DXF, AI and others). I would like to draw complex spline paths in Rhino (3DM) and then import to 3DBrush to create texture detail in a very precise way... shorty
  4. Hi Andrew. A few suggestions to improve the spline drawing function : 1) option to set the 2 ends of spline to be "open" or "closed" (end of curve will be extended to match the tangency at start of curve)... 2) change radius of existing spline points. my idea is to select any point then adjust by dragging with Right Mouse Button. right now i am deleting a point, then adding a new point at different radius. But would prefer direct adjustment... 3) option to assign curve points with "no influence" on the curve width. A curve will flow through this point, but the point does not influence the curve's width. Maybe these points could be displayed in a different color from standard points. Or maybe they are drawn as torus instead of sphere... thanks, S H R T Y
  5. Hi. After playing around for a few days, I have decided to buy this program. But I have a question about displacement map export, which can not be tested in the demo. I see the Pro version can export 32-bit floating displacement. I plan to use this for rendering in Modo, which also uses 32-bit maps. Has anybody tested this from 3DBrush to Modo? I see it has been tested on Carrara 6 and XSI. I assume it should work fine on Modo also? thanks, S H R T Y
  6. Is it possible you can add this spacing option? This is really important to get more powerful effects... thanks, S H R T Y
  7. Hi Andrew. I noticed that 3DBrush doesn't draw when a spline goes around to the backface of a mesh. Any portion hidden when you press "enter" will not be drawn. Is there a preference setting to allow drawing on backfaces? Or it's not possible right now? thanks, shorty
  8. Hello again. So now i have figured out how to create the new brush using PSD files. But still I can not get the "stripe" result which i am looking for. Please see these examples of what is possible in the Deep Paint program : Rocks Zip Metal Strap Tooth Paste Ivy in Fall then could you please let me know how to do a similar effect in 3D Brush? If not possible right now, then please consider to add this type of function. Also i think it would help to have a more advanced brush editor, with ability to load/replace individual maps for each channel (color, bump, alpha, specular) such as DP has. Sorry I don't mean to imply that your program should just copy Deep Paint. But i think they already have a good system to handle so many options. There is a good example in there already... Thanks, shorty
  9. It seems i open my mouth just enough to put my foot inside  Will have to explore your program much deeper to figure out everything which is possible... shorty
  10. Maybe i just need to look more into the options before i speak of these things . What do you think of the idea of using 4 seperate images (Color, Alpha, Bump, and Specular) to paint all in one stripe, such as Deep Paint can do? shorty
  11. Hi Andrew. I would like to request that you have some navigation controls in the workspace, as many other programs do these days. For example in the corner of the viewport you might have icons to click and drag for Pan, Rotate, Fit All, and Zoom. This would really help when using a drawing tablet... Thanks, shorty
  12. Hi Andrew. First i want to say congrats on this software. It really does have some unique features among the competition. Good luck on continuing the development... And now some requests from me regarding the "stripe" function- I would like to have more powerful controls for the qualities of : spacing jitter scaling jitter color (hue) jitter rotation jitter specular jitter opacity jitter bump jitter Also would like to use 4 images to paint all in one stroke for the qualities of Color, Alpha, Bump, and Specular. The best example i can think of is the Texture Brushes from the program Deep Paint. They have an amazing result from using multiple images in one brush stroke. There is a free version of their 2D software which you can download at the link posted below. I believe it functions the same as their 3D version (which i have not tried). If you can follow this example of their tools, plus you have the extra power of using/reusing editable splines then your program can be much improved by this... http://www.download.com/Deep-Paint/3000-2191_4-10398243.html thanks, shorty
