  1. Okay. Not so good, is it? Should I mention that I do not have a UV yet? Does not having a UV matter? Any clues why this is so ugly and ripped to pieces?
  2. Thanks AbnRanger. I'm following the video and it's late (time for bed). I'll look at this and follow it all step by step tomorrow. Thanks again.
  3. Where do I find the way to "merge [my] model into Voxels and give the layer enough resolution to capture all the detail."? Another question - why does my interface show such glaring light (see attachment)? It's nothing like what I see in the video here or elsewhere.
  4. Thank you so much. I'll try this and post the results.
  5. I have a decent mesh to import into 3DCoat to Auto-Topologize, but once done all of the features in the mesh are an absolute blurry mess. This makes the auto-topo process sort of useless. Of course, I'm probably doing something wrong, based upon seeing the example video - my scene looks nothing like that, by the way. The lighting is glaring and the first step doesn't shadow properly. If you can point me to another thread or give some ideas why this is such a mess, please help.
  6. Thank you Tony. I believe you're right about the mesh and thanks for explaining about the Paint Mode.
  7. I have the model Sara Pezzini, which was found on the NeverCenter site years ago. I'm using it to figure out what I can do in 3DCoat prior to purchase. Hope someone can show me what I need to understand. All of the geometry on this object is smooth except her tutu - in Paint Mode ONLY. In Sculpt Mode, the bottom is bumpy and deformed. Why? I can't export in the demo mode at this point to see what the end-result (no pun intended) would be, but I'd appreciate some helpful advice.
  8. Greg, I'm so impressed with this series that I'm being sold on 3D Coat. Thanks for taking time to do these.
  9. I'm just starting on these forums and would second the request for videos like this RatFromScratch set. Very well done and clear. This is the sort of thing that would be worth a little money. Maybe someone here could do something like SetupTab does.
  10. This might seem like too old of a post to continue, but I have found a set of tutorials that will help us with this subject. http://www.alienthink.com/ This Structure of Man series has been used by many art houses and artists to learn and improve their ability to draw. But, it is amazing how it helps to better learn the anatomy for goals such as Phil's here. If you're serious about even stylistic characters, this series (if you follow it and devote yourself to it) will change you for the better. I believe in it that much.
