  1. If you mean the sphere that appears when opening voxelsculptmode or when clearing the scene - in fact I don't like it at all. In my opinion, a 'clear scene' should be just that: a clear scene. Nothing in it.

Andrew, what is the idea behind the initial sphere? Now that you made the primitives, I don't see any reason for it.

When enter the VS mode, you can use CTRL+Z to cancel the initial sphere.

But I like it,I can start almost anything from it !

  2. I just noticed something Mr. Shpagin

I think that the default sphere is too hi detail. I like to use clone and degrade before beginning on a model. What do you guys think? Maybe it should be lower detail by default? I find I like the response of the brushes when I degrade the default sphere in the beginning.

Disagree,I used to increase resolution once before sculpting!

  3. Andrew, that would be great to have to possibility to add some "predefined" edge for quadrangulation.

Great idea! Not to steal you idea, that is why i want to say!

If Andrew will add "predefined edge" and " drivable area quadranglulation",the retopo work flow will be deadly improved!

Maybe stupid,My idea is use the curve tool subdivide whole modle to some areas, then " area quadranglute" it (maybe the algorithm is more easy

and the topology more fit for animation?),

The weakness of VS is it hard to retopo,so it is important to make a more easy retopo work flow,If my idea come be true  , :o;);)

    or  ?

  4. I'm not too crazy about the cube manipulator.

How about something a little more traditional like this one?:

It's similar to the merge mesh manipulator, but I don't like the skinny lines of the current version. I quite like the more solid look of the newer manipulators that's recently been added.

Might also be cool if it was possible to make the unselected parts of the manipulator hide while moving the object around. This would help with precise positioning.

    I vote this manipaulator!

  5. Andrew, you have motioned there are three main selling point of 3dc:

    1) Good retopo toolset

    2) 3D-Sketching with voxel sculpting - sculpting without topological constraints.

    3) Painting tool with layers, many powerful tools - peoples can confirm it for sure.

    About "1) Good retopo toolset":

Are you plan to do a combination of manual retopo work and drivable quadrangulation in retopo mode?

About "2) 3D-Sketching with voxel sculpting - sculpting without topological constraints."

In vs mode, you have developed a 3d-sketching base-mesh creating method by drawing with 'E' panel,

but it can't make squabby cartoon character, 3d artists are used to create cartoon characters by side view or profile.

And are you plan to developed a 3d curve based VS deformer/sculpting tool?that would be another powerful VS tool,

About 3d curve based deformer/sculpting tool, you may understand me on watching this video:

About "3) Painting tool with layers, many powerful tools - peoples can confirm it for sure."

we really look forward to sharpness drawing over low poly!

  6. From a product design perspective I would love to bring in nurbs to create voxel volumes. That way I can create rough volumes in CAD and shape them in 3Dcoat.

Painting the voxels would be awesome. I think that it would be a killer app for illustrators. The voxels allow for much more personal style (as we see in Toxe's work) and happy coincidence to affect the design.

Also when doing retopo it might be interesting to do a combination of manual work and automatic quadrangulation ie- manually do some really important areas, and 3D coat fills in the blanks either using the regular algorithm to create quads or using hints from the flow of the manual quads- just a thought.

I have advised to Andrew that do a combination of manual work and automatic quadrangulation in retopo mode,Andrew is now working on driving quadrangulation, I really want to see what he have made.
