  1. I think I found it but this is a really horrible setup. It's in the top left corner and buried behind the tool bar. If you hide the toolbar, it's there. But if you select another material while the toolbar is hidden, the gizmo is completely off the screen and you can't select it. This is a really odd setup and explains why I've never seen it. Worse, if you move it to a better position, it only is in that positing for that material. It springs right back for each material. There must be a better way to access it?
  2. How do you force this Gizmo to appear? Today was the first time I've ever seen it and had the software for over a year. It was really handy and then it disappeared and I can't get it to appear again. There was a yellow dot on the screen and I clicked it to see what it was. But I can't get that to appear either. Thanks.
  3. Ok, I went to the Help menu and uninstalled the license and that forced it to start prompting. I think the initial menu in trial mode needs a button.
  4. I upgraded but apparently I'm stuck in trial mode and wasted a lot of time before I realized it was still watermarking everything. Where is the button to enter the key? I've restarted the program several times and it doesn't ask.
  5. They are the same. The difference between the two, is one is fresh off of Retopo to the paint room. The material doesn't apply correctly. The other is saved from that point, exit, restart, re-apply material. Now I always save after retopology and restart the program so materials apply correctly. If you apply the materials, save, and open the file, the messed up version is still there. The materials need to be reapplied.
  6. I updated to the latest (.31) and the issue appears to be gone. Edit: Never mind, it's still there. One annoying quirk had just masked it. But I'll take this issue over that one.
  7. Took me awhile to get back around to this. But the first image shows the result of immediately applying the material. The second is after restarting the software and applying the material again. Some materials contain various project names and were blurred out of an abundance of paranoia.
  8. I'll try to make a video at the nearest opportunity. If nobody else is seeing this issue, it could be a driver problem or something. Yet I wouldn't expect that to still be there when I load the project again. I'm using imported OBJ files. I bring in low poly version, map, new, Retopo menu to bring in high poly, import low poly mapped, bake, paint, see the issue, save, restart program, repaint. I don't think the complexity of the OBJ matters. I've seen it on basically a cube. The polygons on a given side look a bit like the seat of a ladder back chair with the edges of the polygons obvious. On restart and repaint, the polygon edges are no longer obvious.
  9. I select the lower right menu option for retopo off the main. And then select by OBJ file. Then follow the prompts. There seems to be nothing on the screen but if I keep zooming toward the little axis indicator, I'll see the model if I am careful not to zoom in too much. The OBJ is exported in meters but its a small object that would be better described in mm. I don't have this problem when importing them into the paint room. I use the first retopo option mostly and it works great.
  10. Yes, still there. It doesn't apply correctly. You can save it, restart the program, and load it and it's still incorrect. But then you can re-apply it and it is correct. Its like it is projected across some of the polygons instead of straight on toward the vector normal. So you get a look of brush lines. I'll remember to screen cap the next one.
  11. I'm on 2023.16. I'll get to a stopping point on my project and update it. Thanks.
  12. When I bring in a mesh to try autoretopo, I need to zoom in a lot to find it. And then there is only a narrow window before it disappears again. In fact, I thought it simply failed to import the first several times I tried it. But I still can't practically view it. How do you adjust this? I haven't noticed this problem when importing models for other uses. It's funny that the software makes really complicated things feel intuitive. But some seemingly basic things I still can't figure out.
  13. I find I often need to save and restart the program before it applies smart materials correctly. Especially after moving from retopo to paint.
  14. No, I'm talking about their PBR web interface. From their file. I have a ton of materials I can setup myself from a $9 pack or free sources. But these self-installed initially. Which was the draw of using them.
