  1. Hey everyone, I'm pretty sure I've seen options for size of projection for external editing (100% 200% 400% etc) in Edit menu, but I can't find them anymore (I'm on 4.5.14 Mac version). Am I looking in a wrong place or am I delusional and this option was in a different software? Thanks! * Edit Oh, the option has indeed disappeared from Edit menu, I found it on old video: Where is it now?

  3. I think projection painting is broken in 4.5.06 (probably due projection leaking bug I was writing about some time ago).   5. Hi everyone, that was probably discussed but I had no luck finding anything on transferring/migrating settings on the forum. I just updated to 4.5.06 from 4.5.03 and all my preferences/brush presets/interface were reseted to defaults. What's the proper way to migrate the settings to new version? Thanks
  6. Thanks, PolyHertz! I had no idea about this menu, it's super amazing! I ended up setting MMB+drag for opacity since I use similar to Maya navigation and don't use MMB on its own.
  7. Hi everyone, Can you please tell me if there's a way to change the opacity the same way size/depth is adjusted. Maybe it's possible to switch depth (RMB + vertical drag) with opacity? There's a Alt+mouse wheel hotkey in preferences, but I'm using tablet and therefore I don't have mouse wheel. Thanks!

  9. Hi again I'm pretty sure that in 4.5 Beta Freeze tool in Single Polygon mode was freezing a single clicked polygon. But after update it keeps work like brush withith locked polygon. The tooltip says that it should paint up to the borders while LMB is held, but for me it works that way all the time no matter if I click or drag
  10. You can hide faces with Hide Poly Tool (in Paint room) and then from menu Hide choose Delete Hidden Faces Permanently
  11. Wow, thanks Carlosan, using the different layer works! But how should I know that Layer 0 can't be used to draw on? Maybe it should be locked or named something like 'DONT PAINT HERE'?
  12. Hi everyone, I don't get why 3d Coat doesn't save the texture in my project. Here's what I'm doing: 1) import fbx to paint on 2) Texture > Import > Layers Color to import base color and AO layers I have 3) painting, saving .3b file, closing 3d Coat 4) open file again, my AO layer is there, but layer 0 is flat grey color What's going on? I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that on 4.5 Beta (I just updated to 4.5.03, osx)
  13. But I need to see the context. Also in provided example I could spent some time, calculate where the strokes can leak and try to hide the geometry, but with more complex shapes constant hiding/unhiding with take a lot of time. I really like how fast projections are working in 3d Coat comparing to C4D, but C4D didn't has this problem
  14. AFAIK this is projection only issue, but I'd like to work in Photoshop. It seems that paint starts to leak if back surface is near the front one. Here I projected from the top and two left objects are leaking to bottom. I wonder if there's a way to change this minimal distance

Hi everyone, I'm trying to paint a texture in 3DC using mostly the Photoshop via projection. 2 times of 5 I'm getting different artefacts on a concealed part of geometry 'Project through' is turned off, the issue appears only in Projection painting, normal painting works fine. The geometry consist of 2 intersecting but disconnected cylinder-like objects, I can guess those artefacts are projections of pixels leaked between two pieces.   16. So, the reason everything freezes is that new unwrap algorithm is sensitive specifically to non manifold polygons. Andrew said they'll fix that, but until then it's a good idea to look out for those nasty little things. Thanks for your help!
  17. Thanks, Carlosan! You're right, the model has faults: I checked once more time and found loose vertices here and there on other parts of geometry. I've tried other file formats but the problem persisted. Your cleaned file worked just fine however. My pipeline implies loose 3d and 2d overpaint later on so I'm alright with bad geometry as long as it looks alright, but it seems that 3d Coat is picky to quality of geometry, am I right? Do you think it's a good idea to send the whole model to Andrew anyway to check it out? Because probably hanging the system because of the bad geometry wasn't intentional Thanks again, Sergey.

Hey everyone, I'm having a weird issue with UV unwrap: I made a model but one of the pieces of its geometry freezes the system, no matter if I do auto-mapping, unwrap after defining seams or anything else. After I press Unwrap the beach ball appears, then if I force quit the 3d Coat the beach ball freezes as the system. The weird things are that the geometry looks absolutely okay to me and that I haven't experienced system freezes in years: I guess something completely out of hand is going on. Any other software I tried unwrap the model without problems. Console seems to be empty of any messages. 4.1.16 (GL64) Educational 10.9.5 on MBPr the model is attached. Thanks for any help! test.obj
