  1. Hi, we are currently working on a project with 3D scanned products and are looking for a freelance 3D artist, who is available asap and has experience in amending/modelling/sculpting 3D scanned objects incl. Texture Maps (either in: ZBrush, 3DCoat, Mudbox, Blender, Substance Painter). If you are interested please message me, so we can discuss the project and payment etc. Best, Anne
  2. Hello to everyone. Thank you for your help... The following video tutorial by Phil Nolan is excellent for photo to 3d model> (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6eqW6yk50k&t=30s). I created a 3D model with Phil's shared rock photos (https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9rxzs59lt59pq3/rock_video_images.zip?dl=0). I want to clear the mesh surplus with 3DCoat software; 1) File> New> Voxel Sculpting> Open> Rock.obj (https://www.dropbox.com/s/uf8jq27dyl5bh3b/Rock 3DCoat Import.rar?dl=0) 2) I clean it with the help of "cut off" tool (https://www.dropbox.com/s/m02dzml45j6s62p/Rock 3DCoat Cleared.rar?dl=0) 3) I'm going to the "paint" tab. 4) "Export Objects & Textures" (It does not create the "texture" file!) 5) Textures> Export> Color / Albedo Map (Black "texture" file!) I want to create OBJ and Texture map files. I'm cleaning up, doing OBJ, creating texture map. But it is black! Can you help me with this? Do you know a training video to help me? I'm doing the wrong thing. l want to 3D scanned (Photo to 3D mesh) model and texture map (original scanned point texture map) from 3DCoat software (It's not an FBX file!). Subject; 1) Rock Cleared.obj (Close or open mesh!) (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8syibbsevab9h4h/Rock Cleared.rar?dl=0) 2) Rock Cleared.jpg (Color map!) (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8syibbsevab9h4h/Rock Cleared.rar?dl=0) I want to scan different models. I am waiting for help and an answer. Thank you...
  3. Hello Pilgway team, this is thought to be a suggestion. I just entered into the space of 3d-scanning and it came to my mind, that 3d-coat might be well prepared for the handling of point-clouds and all related stuff, like fusion of multiple scan-data and last not least proper mesh-generation from pointclouds. I guess 'retopology'-algorithms and 'pointcloud 2 mesh'-ones are somehow related? And since mesh-repair is also focused on in the latest releases of 3d-coat, it would be nice to be able to use 3d-coat in the scan>mesh-workflow as well. As I said - its a suggestion only, but there is an increasing number of people out there, who are not only getting involved with 3d-printing but also with 3d-scanning. Best regards and thx for giving us 3d-coat Klaus Middendorf
  4. To all 3DC'ers! I am new to 3DC and I have been trying to solve an issue with sculpting and texturing a model that I would like your help with. I have a .OBJ file of a sculpture that has been captured by a 3D Scanner and has a UV map/texture. The problem is that, the model has some defects, both texture and geometry that require correction. I have managed to correct the geometry defects and I have also managed to correct the textures and export the model out of 3DC. I can do these operations INDIVIDUALLY but I cannot seem to bake the new texture on the modified (Voxelised) geometry. Could you please help correct my noob mistake or if this is a known issue/limitation then please feel free to put my mind at ease. My workflow (based on tutorials and searching the forums): 1: File > Import > import for voxelising (select the .OBJ) 2: Make modifications to geometry using clay tools and live clay etc. 3: To the Retopo room 4: Retopo menu > import - select the same file as original import to get Retopo mesh - (no UV edits as the texture already has UV mapped textures) 5: Retopo Menu > Merge NM 6: To Paint Room 7: Import Texture > import normal map 8: Back to Retopo 9: Bake scan settings and Bake 10: Back to paint Room for export and the model shows the Voxel sculpted edits and the texture (albeit with wierd layers - most of the time the texture is a bronze colour!) Please help!!! Endless hours trying to solve this and I am stuck. I appreciate your comments and help, thanks in advance. Ash
  5. Hi! I'm evaluating 3dcoat for use with 3d scan data. I have a mesh with vertex color but need to bake it into a texture. 3d coat has recently added vertex color imports, and it does import them properly, but Ivery confused on the workflow needed to convert them to textures :| Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
