New Member sikorumbe Posted July 9, 2015 New Member Share Posted July 9, 2015 Hi Guys, I'm a newbie user to 3d Coat v4.5 and I was wondering on how to paint on just particular UV island ? Is there a way to lock the current selection ? Or perhaps 'separate object' function ? Because when you have objects stacking on top of another one, It's difficult to paint without spilling to the other objects/parts. I've searched the forum but no luck. Thank you. Solution PolyHertz Posted July 9, 2015 Solution Share Posted July 9, 2015 Paint Bucket tool, enable "Fill w/freeze" and disable "Use Color Tolerance", then click on all the UV islands you don't want to paint on in the "Texture Editor" window (or, freeze the one you want to work on and then use Freeze > invert). New Member sikorumbe Posted July 9, 2015 Author New Member Share Posted July 9, 2015 Hi PolyHertz, Thank you for the reply. But what if I was using Brush Tool? Is there a way to prevent leaking to another object/ UV Island ? Thank you.
PolyHertz
After using the above method you can use any tool, Brush included, and it'll respect the set borders of the UV area you want to work on. If you want to stop paint strokes from affecting nearby objects, aside from freezing, you can lock them (padlock icon next to the eyeball) in the sub-object menu.
