Daz And 3DCoat Workflow?

Hi there! I know this is a question that's likely been asked a thousand times, but I can't seem to find the direct answer I'm looking for. I'm brand new to 3DCoat, and I've been watching tutorials on youtube, but I don't know how they apply to my particular workflow - or rather, I still don't know what I'm doing!!!

What I do is model in Hexagon, refine in Zbrush, and then I want to send to 3DCoat for texturing exclusively. These models will be for and used in Daz Studio, with the Iray render engine. I suppose my question is, with this work train in mind, can you guys tell me the steps to creating a texture? For an example...

I'm working on a hat; what do I do now? How would you guys go about painting a nice texture for this, with it kept in mind that you'll be painting those yellow stripes/circles? Would you paint it completely from hand, or use free online texture samples?
