freeze color too black (hacky solution)

Hi

I found a little hack that I wanted to share. It makes the freeze color transparent so you can see more of the shading through.

Ok hack goes like this (proceed on your own risk :)) ... Open the file

Program Files\3D-Coat-V4.7.26\Shaders\Templates\ggx_layers.glsl

in a text editor like Notepad++, add the following line directly after the "Checker = ..." line near the top of the file:

dd=dd*0.45;

As a positive side effect, it also changes the transparency of the pose tool rainbow overlay.

This is for OpenGL mode, for DirectX mode it works the same, just edit the file ggx_layers.hlsl instead of ggx_layers.glsl.

Good luck. Please post here if you find it breaks something!

You can use the Density Shader as well.

 If the shader is a little too bright for your taste then in the shader properties, click on the grey color bar and just darken the grey.

As the picture shows you can see through the freeze, pose tool selection area etc...

3DC version 4.7.26 beta.

LOL, it has been so long I forgot that I made the Density shader... :blink:. The name was to remind me that the density of the freeze would be lighter, able to see through...

A new shader was constructed off the MapCap_Clay shader.

Right click on the shader and choose "Construct New Shader"

Deselect  cavity and flat shading, not needed

 I wanted this shader as a freeze shader...  I just constructed a new shader and named it Freeze to help my poor brain... :dash2:

Sorry for my opps about the density shader...
