Advanced Member paulrus Posted January 8, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 8, 2008 One of the best plug-ins for XSI is from XSIBase member BenH called Binder. It allows XSI to read a .BIO file at render time and replace a low-poly object with the high-res displaced version in the .BIO file. Being able to export the high-res mesh as a .BIO file would be great for XSI users. Check it out here: http://www.xsibase.com/forum/index.php?boa...;threadid=31878
Advanced Member wailingmonkey Posted January 8, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 8, 2008 Hi paulrus, Not to poo-poo your request, but you know you can currently work with .obj and Binder, right? I'm curious what the .bio advantage might be, since I've only used .obj with Binder... cheers. wailingmonkey
Advanced Member paulrus Posted January 9, 2008 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 9, 2008 Basically BenH said it takes much less RAM and is significantly faster to render BIO files than OBJ files. Paul
