Advanced Member kirkl Posted May 7, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 7, 2011 I come to 3dcoat mostly for per-pixel texture painting. For sculpting I prefer Zbrush. I usually send my model to 3dcoat in a middle subdivision level together with a 32 bit displacement map. Painting in 3dc is more convenient generally except one thing: "more/less on heights" works not so intuitive and understandable as in Zbrush. In Zbrush with a different imbed factor I can reach more controllable brush behavior. While painting on heights I often need to imbed the brush a bit deeper while keeping the same "on heights" behavior. In a word I think we need something that would control a smoothness of a mask, maybe with a pen pressure connection or something. An ability to paint not just on pixels but on a real surface with a brush behavior connected to a surface curvature and similar to a real brush on a real canvas is a key feature and still realized not good enough in 3dcoat.
