Advanced Member rimasson Posted February 20, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 i read you blog, and here are somme comment about the future tools that you plan to add to 3d brush. - merging new objects into scene ; very good idea - retopologisation ; why not, but not so important for me. i use Topogun, which is the most advanced retopo software available. - more complete uv-mapping : why not, but there are ather tools available on the market. - memory consumption optimisation, so that every face on layer will contaion only required subset of information (color or geometry) : very good idea - procedural layers (text layers, curve layers, parametrical materials layers etc)- make blending options like in PS (with same names): very good idea - plugins system : very good idea - more filters (now you have 3 filters - adjust HSV, smooth, sharpen) very good idea - tweaking in low-poly mode : a must - hairs and fur (maybe in 3.xx version) why not , but not very important for me - volumetrical sculpting (in 3.xx version) - work wth volume, not surface, so that you will be able to make holes or change topology as you wish. : this is a very exiting feature ! the only volumetric sculpting software available is linked to a specific hardware, and is very expensive. Advanced Member wailingmonkey Posted February 24, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 24, 2008 I'm definitely in agreement with the above for the most part, although as I said in the blog, I'd hope for a focus on Optimization, Multiple Objects, and Procedurals before the others. (If you can get the real-time editing to be, well, real-time it would be an incredible boost to the feel of 3d-brush...I'm thinking about things like Smoothing larger areas and layer edits/adjustments as the current bottlenecks that hinder my own workflow speed) I'm not very familiar with volumetric sculpting since I've never seen it in action, but I came across these links if they are of any benefit: http://www.merl.com/projects/ADF-Kizamu/ http://www.merl.com/reports/docs/TR2001-08.pdf Your roadmap looks to make 3d-brush an even stronger asset to have around. Keep up the great work! wailingmonkey
