The window panel allowing to use the add license file works ?  Drag'n'drop the file into the interface didn't do the trick, as I know.

Thank you for pointing me to the forum thread and the steps regarding manual license activation. Unfortunately, I'm still encountering an issue when trying to load the license file via the "Load License" button in 3DCoatTextura on Linux. When I attempt to drag and drop the license file into the application (as suggested in the instructions), I receive this error message: Just to clarify, I’m not dragging anything from a webpage — I’m dragging the actual 3DCoat.license file that I downloaded from my Pilgway account. I’ve also tried manually placing the license in ~/.3DCoatTextura/ and clearing cached license data (litemp.dat), but the app still launches in trial mode or crashes when using the load license option. It seems that on Linux (Linux Mint 22.1 in my case), the drag-and-drop or "Load License" UI method may not be functioning correctly. If there’s a fully manual activation method, or if there’s a known workaround for this issue on Linux, I’d appreciate further guidance. Thanks again for your time and support.

I recently purchased an Individual - Permanent license for 3DCoatTextura 2024 on May 1, 2025, and I'm encountering issues activating it on my Linux system. When I attempt to load the license key from the splash screen prompt, the application crashes immediately. If I use the login method instead, 3DCoatTextura launches but incorrectly reports that I’m on a trial version with 25 days remaining, even though I have a valid permanent license. System Details: OS: Linux Mint 22.1 x86_64 (Cinnamon) Kernel: 6.8.0-59-generic CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Lite Hash Rate and AMD Radeon RX 470/480/570/570X Memory: 32 GB RAM DE: Cinnamon 6.4.8 3DCoatTextura Version: 2024 Could you please advise how to properly activate my license to avoid these issues? Is there a specific folder on Linux where I can manually place the license key file to bypass the crash and stop the trial warning from appearing? I’d appreciate any guidance you can offer.

I'm coming from Maya which had great retopo tools. I also tried messing with Blender; Retopoflow 4, to see how that compares to Maya as well. So far 3DCoat comes closest to the ease-of-use and speed in Maya. I'm a big fan of Point to Polygons since it's very similar to Maya. Is there a way to set up a hotkey to allow the Tweak > Brush Tool to be used without leaving the Point to Polygons? Holding CTRL makes edge loops which is fantastic, but I'd also like to be able to smooth the mesh as I build. I didn't see that as a choice under the CRTL+Shift option. Thanks, Adam

ah, I said something like one version of Applink for each Blender version. This prevents Applink stops working for previous versions. Blender is changing too much every version, every small change might break Applink from working. If it works, you don't need to change. People still use older versions, for older online courses, or use an older blender version.

can you share which was the problem to know about for futures issues with other users ? thanks

Ah works. Thank you. The topic name you linked is "applink not working" mine is working, the problem is a bit different. I can now keep sending new data!

hello Carlo, I am using 3D coat (not Textura) version 2024.31.
    • Carlosan
On which version of 3DCoat ?

Hello developers, Windows 11 , blender 4.2.9 and 3D coat Applink work. There is only one thing. After sending, and if you close the programs, it does not reset, even if you kill the processes in Windows task window. You need to reboot the PC to make it work again. Any chance we get some reset button , so we can keep sending models to 3D coat? I guess the memory is never freed, because of the sudden process kill. Thank you very much.

Gday there, ive been using 3Dcoat for almost two years and I just now noticed something regarding a delay everytime I tried to undo my sculpt. During voxel sculpting, I'm experiencing a consistent 1 second delay when using undo immediately after brushing regardless of brush size or triangle count. The first undo is always delayed, but subsequent undos run smoothly. If I wait a few seconds after sculpting before pressing undo, there's no lag at all. is this lag a normal thing for this program or am I just used to it now? hoping theres a workaround to this ! Im currently using 3Dcoat version 2024.31, and my PC specs are: RTX 4090 i9 13900K 32GB RAM Windows 10 Pro   Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

I had a similar problem, and the only solution at work was to use a hardware VPN. Our solution was Daytek, but there are options from other brands like TP-Link.

To add models to Quick Start Menu (in this example the Asaro head model) drag the .rar content to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\3DCoat\data\StartMenu the folders: files: here are located the models on .3b file format images: the icon that show the model in the QSMenu. The size is 256x256 / .png / RGBA (alpha is applied to background zones) Hardsurface: is for Surface models, in the .xml you write the location of the image file used for the icon and the location of the model   look on the original files to find more examples at C:\Program Files\3DCoat-2025\data\StartMenu data.rar
