oh i didnt know i could tweak colors. couldnt find it originally. i tried other options like levels, and those work fine (in photoshop) -

very interesting ! try exporting as other file format as png, like example and yes, if you took it into photoshop and tweaked the shadows/highlights the seams become visible. you can do it into 3DC on Textures Menu > Adjust -

ok i just found out something interesting. if i simply put the raw map that comes out of 3dcoat no seams show. however, i took it into photoshop and tweaked the shadows/highlights and once i did that it updates in both marmoset and maya and the seams become visible -

What if you import the texture generated by 3DC in Maya's shader>Albedo node, over the base model created in Maya ? -

this is very strange because i do not see those seams in my 3dcoat file (as presented in my original post with the left image). i do not know why this is happening -

It deletes the soft edges generated on Maya... but don't worry with that step... I imported the model into 3DC and still have issues painting a Low Poly mesh on seams as you reported it previously UV seams visible in other softwares. -

what does that "delete split normal" do? is there an equivalent in maya if it fixes the issue? -

the model was created in maya, and i softened the edges before exporting and importing to 3Dcoat to paint. i had no issues painting in 3dcoat. there were no seams until i exported the texture map to test. -

one sec... I am importing the test mesh into Marmoset trying to find a workaround for your issues - My settings File > Export objects and textures After export 3DC Marmoset * project attached if you like to perform same test Project.3b -

In 3DCoat, you cannot triangulate a mesh directly within the Paint Room after a model has been imported and set up for texturing. If you want the mesh to be triangulated from the very beginning, you can use the option in the import dialog. When importing a model for "Per Pixel Painting," the import dialog window includes an option to "Triangulate" the mesh. By checking this box during the import process, the model will be triangulated before it is even placed in the Paint Room, which can help avoid UV glitches in game engines -
