Hi Devs! Is there Roadmap for new features in 2025, or for any development plans made public so one can pace the update of a permanent licence? Until I find that the newest stable release doesn't add as much value as I need, I'd like to hold out with renewing my licence. But i do plan on upgrading, just more financially responsibly. Thanks. -
Aware of that, I am Modo users for over the decade. @Carlosan Sure that is fair, nothing against it. In my case discount is not so important, I will pay full price if product works and it is stable, on OS I use, that is also officially supported. It is not fair that I pay same as Windows users an get half working product usually months later ... But going offtopic here. We went through this couple years ago anyway. -
Once you've calculated your curvature map, from the Edit menu--> Calculate curvature, you can use these three parameters to tweak it. See video I attached. 2025-01-13 17-26-50.mp4

Still think that it's bad that you can't choose to upgrade earlier -
Hello, our position is explained by the fact that we want to sell the upgrades but not take a maintenance fee. If we take a maintenance fee, we take money in advance, and in some sense, we become debtors. Who knows what the future will be, especially in our times? We do not want to take any money in advance. We want to take money only for something tangible that we made. I think that is an honest position. So, we decided to sell the upgrade when it is ready for the particular customer and to give a new 12-month free upgrade period as a gift. That is why you cannot buy the upgrade if there are no new versions for you (new versions compared to the ones you had access to during your current 12 months of free upgrades). As soon as your free upgrade period expires and the new stable version appears in the download section, which you could not access before, we will put the upgrade button on your license in your Pilgway account, and you can upgrade. After the upgrade, we give you new gift - 12 months of free upgrade period since the date of the upgrade ... -

While you are on the FOUNDRY website, you can download MODO for FREE as it comes with a FREE 10 year license. I download ver 17.1 and ver 12 as I want Meshfushion. And was able use use their FREE 10 year license on both. -
Today, I noticed an issue while using the external editor. After exporting my model to Photoshop or other programs, and then returning to 3D Coat Textura, the entire layer hierarchy becomes messed up. The issue persists regardless of the version I'm using. Currently I’m on version 2024.31. Here’s how it looks before exporting to Photoshop, and how it appears after I edit a layer in Photoshop and return to 3D Coat Textura. https://imgur.com/a/7NtCHJG -

In my case does not matter much tbh. I am dominantly Linux user and 3dcaot is failing again with it, so I decided to go with Mari instead. Super stable and operational on Linux. Still learning about new features they added in last few years, and I really hate Foundry as company, but app works great and that is what counts.

So bad when we lose the discount from no fault of your own. Just because the the website won't allow you to purchase because "they don't want to sell you a patch that hasn't arrived yet" I seriously think this system is much worse than the alternative.
